you're right. when people say the lakers might have to sign him to the mle they mean they'll be signing him to similar money, not using the actual mle.

im not surprised, as mentioned in a few other threads, he could probably start for a few teams.

It's believed that Vujacic's representative will be seeking the full mid-level exception of $5.8 million.

Of course i´m betting no one even asked any of his "representatives" or himself for a number...

I've never seen a role player shoot such a poor %

Huh ? Even his terrible playoff percentages have him at a PPS of 1,24 and his 3 ball still dropped at 39%. His regular season numbers are more than solid across the board for a shooter.

Fact is that even when he was totally off he got his minutes and finished out games, so that should tell you that at least Phil Jackson sees him having an impact without actually making shots. I´ll take his opinion ...

Of course he shouldn´t ultimately be paid 5,8 first year, but then again i don´t think he will. For me that is the media searching for a story more than anything ... And if someone offers him a lot more money than the Lakers, he should go. Afterall that´s how it goes everywhere and not just sports. If everyone resigned for less than the salary cap system would be of no use ...

This guy is just not worth the kind of money he is asking for, but some team will probably give it to him. I don't think if you are a team who wants to win an NBA title that Sasha can be a starter for you. He is a nice player coming off the bench, he provides some energy, but starting him will exploit the weaknesses in his game that make him not worthy of a big payday.

Kobe? Gasol? Fisher? Those guys ring a bell?

I think Turiaf's staying and that "it's a business" talk is just to drive up his value.

If a team can get Vujacic for half the MLE, it's golden. The full MLE is just too much imo.

Let's see, 9 points an assist and 2 boards a game is considered a good season? Worthy of the mle?!?

Apparently he hustles on defense too (wow)!

Obviously his performances during the playoffs were one for the ages. 8 points! .8 assists a game!! 2 boards a night!!! All while shooting 39 % from the field (35% in the final two series against Boston and San Antonio)!!!! Ballin.

Bow down, I think we might have a great one here.

The worst part is that I'm sure there is a team out there that would pay him that. I would not mind giving him that kind of money if we haven't already crippled ourselves with Luke's contract and Vlad's contract. Sasha is much more important to our team than those two combined. And sasha has shown consistency and mental toughness to play alongside kobe. I don't know if this has been mentioned but since the lakers are over the tax, they're going to have to pay one dollar in tax per dollar of sasha's contract. Which means buss will have to pay 11.6 next year if he agrees to this. Lakers need to desperately get rid of vlad and luke somehow to free up time for Sasha, Ariza, and Turiaf.

That kind of thinking is what got you into those original messes. I would pay about half of that if I was the Lakers and if he doesn't take it I'll tell him to have a nice day and go sign someone for that 3 million a year that is just as good. Dude is really not that special.

You mean kind of like Marko Jaric? Plus, Marko is one up on Sasha because he's got a Victoria's Secret Model. What does Sasha have, a headband that isn't a headband?

MOCKED. Vujacic is not a starter on the Lakers nor should he be a starter on any other team in the NBA.
