I'm speechless... I heard he cancelled workouts for teams in the late lottery, but I haven't heard any other rumors. Did he workout for us? Was he at that big group workout at Golden State?

I am not too surprised. This draft is very confusing as no one knows who is drafting whom. Even Rose and Beasley are not certain picks. If the Sonics have concluded the guards are all just Combo Guards like Delonte West then filling the teams most pressing need makes good sense. Forwards and Combo Guards are a dime a dozen. How often do you get a chance to draft the best Center on the board?

Could also be Minnesota at #3.

There are two ways to react to the notion of the Sonics drafting Brook Lopez. The first is to deny the possibility and the next is to discuss the reasons why his selection might happen and what the selection does for the team.

For me Lopez is a player you don't want before the draft, but rationalize his selection and raise your hope heading into summer league, training camp and the season.

I've said all along that I'm okay with Lopez, My only problem with it is what would we take with 24? I love the thought of getting Hibbert or Koufos there, but if we take Lopez at 4, then we would probably have to hope a swing is available or something.

If we take Lopez at 4, perhaps Lee from Western Kentucky with the second. He's been very impressive in workouts, showing off a very well rounded game, better than expected ball handling skills, and a sweet NBA-style midrange game. He's also in outstanding shape and completely professional.

WTH. wasn't he just at #9 by draftexpress?

Why take him at #4, if you can get him at #8.

I think no one outside of our front office really knows whats going on and who'll be the guy that tops our list for that #4 pick. So no matter what anyone else says, the only thing that matters is this Thursday, when Presti makes his decision.

Draftexpress has shown what i've written to BRIGGS. They also don't have a clue what we'll do and after having Bayless penciled in at #4 since the Lottery was over, they've now got Lopez there, as he only worked out for Minny, Memphis and us and many other teams tend to believe that he's the guy we're taking.

-Is Jerryd Bayless as much of a lock at 4 as everyone thinks? A number of NBA teams we’ve spoken with don’t think that’s the case. Almost everyone at this point in fact has Brook Lopez slated be picked by Seattle, with Bayless dropping slightly to the Knicks at #6. If Lopez doesn’t go 3rd, 4th of 5th, he will be taken by a team that did not work him out, as he only agreed to be seen by those three teams.

He is still i the top 6 for us, but he is behind Love and Gallinari. I personally only see us getting Lopez is we do an extreme trade down.

I am hoping MN just takes Mayo and runs with it.

As you guys probably know, I love this pick. Do you guys really think he would only work out for the top 5 teams if he didn't know he was a lock for the top 5? There's no way he drops to nine. I think he and Gordon (due to injury) are being criminally underrated on realgm.

I read on Chad Ford's mock that Memphis could trade out of the 5 spot in exchange for taking Brian Cardinal. Petro + Wilcox + 24 + future 1st for Brian Cardinal + #5? Could Presti nab another 5 slot?

I wouldnt touch Cardinal and his horrible contract. I think is contract is around 3 years 5 million per or something it might even be longer.

Who would we take if we did get the 5th pick?

I'd love to grab Lopez + Gordon. I'd be comfortable with Watson if all four other guys can score in different ways. Durant has a great mid and outside game, Lopez has a fantastic post game, Green can go post to mid, Gordon is killer at slashing and knocking down long shots.

Of course their fans are hating this, they have been on the 'wanting' OJ mayo bandwagon for a long time though. Maybe Mchale loves the bigs more than we or they thought.
