I see Larry Johnson with more height, athletic ability, and natural scoring ability.
My Kobe Bryant website I designed myself: http://personal.stthomas.edu/dnnguyen/kb24.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
When I first heard about Yi being a possibility, I wasn't very excited. Then I remembered reading that the Warriors might be to trade #14 and Brandon Wright for Yi.
I'd do Mayo for Wright(who I wanted to pick last year)+#14+#8.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
I'm speaking for myself here, but from a Bucks standpoint Bogut + #8 for the #3 is really stretching it.
Bogut has been progressing very nicely for us the last 3 years but to package him with our #8 is a little too much. I hope to God that deal won't go down.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
I think just about everyone here agrees Jbizz, Bogut for #3 is equal value, but we arent trying to break even, adding the #8 is too much to throw in, but there is nothing else really that you have to entice us. Which is why I dont see us as good trading partners.

No disagreement that #8+Bogut for #3 is overpaying, but if the Bucks want #3 they'll have to overpay.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
The difference here is that Bogut is a good player that will never be a superstar, and he's going to be getting a very big contract pretty soon.
The #3 is riskier, but has superstar potential and is guaranteed to be a small contract.
Let me ask both Wolves and Bucks fans this question: If the wolves got Beasley with the #3, would you be in favor of a #3 for Bogut + #8 trade.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
What about this:
Bucks trade: #8 (Lopez), Michael Redd
Wolves trade: #3 (Mayo), Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker
If there's a Bucks/Wolves trade I think it'd look a lot like this. I can see the Bucks including Villanueva or taking back Buckner or something to close it if need be.
I assume many of you will not think that Mchale would invest in Redd, but I think he just might. You guys have a very young team, but in the completely stocked up West you would need a premier shooter and scorer to help give space for Jefferson if you want to make the playoffs any time soon. If Mchale thinks Jefferson is poised to blow up then he would be looking to make this kind of deal sooner rather than later, especially considering his job might be on the line.
I can't see the Bucks trading Bogut for a pick, not after he started to break out at the end of last season and is poised for major improvements now that we have a real coach (his first one since he's gotten here). Trading this package for Redd though would be a move similar to what the Celtics did to get Ray Allen, except Redd is a young enough and will not see a decline in his game for 3-5 years at least considering how he plays. His contract will be up before then anyways, so you could resign him at a more managable deal right when you're team would hopefully be gunning for contention. So in that way, this deal would be both for the short and long term---ensuring your team makes improvements even if you can't make the playoffs (like the trailblazers), but having enough young talent where you can let the team grow into a championship caliber team down the line potentially.
What do you think about this kind of prospect?

I don't really have any interest in Michael Redd, he isn't good enough to make us compete in the west and he takes us out of the summer of 09 free agent market. It has to be 2 out of #8, Yi, and Bogut or no deal I'm affraid, if that's too much for the bucks to give up we're fine with just taking Mayo.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
I don't have any interest in Redd either, and his unwillingness to play defense means I don't want him around our young kids. Heck, we have Redd-lite in McCants, but he costs one eighth the price.
I understand MIL not wanting to use Bogut. He's the best player on your team. The problem is, the best player on your team is not a #1 NBA star. Its quite possible that Mayo won't be either, but I hope the front office swings for the fences to give the club a little excitement. A competitive offer will have to beat out the Clippers, and I don't think Redd does it.

Not saying that it isnt fair value, but I have to agree with my fellow Timberwolves fans. Even if Jefferson decides to break out, the players that would surround him (and hypothetically Redd) would not come close to what the Celtics had this past year. We wont be ready for contention for another 2-3 years with or without him and he cripples any FA possibilities down the road.

Sorry I must have missed that, but did the clips suggest they'd give up Kaman + 7 for the #3? If that was offered you'd have to be completely insane not to do it, and the clips would have to be insane to offer it.
As for the Bogut talk on here, not trolling but either Rev's source should put down the crack pipe or we hired the worst GM in history. That's not even close to equal value, the vast majority of bucks fan's wouldn't do Bogut for the #3 straight up, let alone with the #8 included. If this deal was done Bucks fans would revolt, no kidding, and you'd get lots of new Australian fans

Given this board don't seem to want Redd, Mo or CV I think you guys are right - we are just poor trading partners. Like I said if the clips were nuts enough to offer Kaman + #7 i'd take it and run away giggling, pick whoever was left out of Westbrook and Alexander and improve very very quickly. Kaman/Al would be an awesome frontline.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
Paul,
The source is legit. The idea is that the Bucks would see Beasley as a cant-miss prospect and would be willing to move Bogut+pick in order to get him. There is always a sad difference between what fans would want and what a front office sees. (as wolves fans we can relate with that)
The only think I heard about Redd is the potential for a 3 way with NY. I am not sure if there is anything legit to it, or if people were just farting out scenarios. In the situation we would gt the 6th and 8th pick. Like I said, not sure if there is any legs or just farted scenarios.
The thing to remember is every team has 10 or so scenarios they are throwing in te air and debating. If I told you a couple years ago that MN almost got Eddy Curry (if it was not for the stupid offer from NY) I would have been laughed at, but it almost happened. The Phx-KG-Atl 3-way trade was a lot closer to happening than Chi ever was (and would have likely happened if Bos did not get ray-ray) there are a lot of trades that get finalized but the paper gets torn up before the ink dries.

I think you've identified the only plausible way the Bucks would trade Bogut + #8 for the #3 pick. If Riley for some reason decided to draft Mayo (which he won't), and Beasley was there at #3 you can bet there would be alot of good offers coming your way. But no GM in the NBA would trade Bogut + #8 for Mayo, and I don't think I'm exaggerating either.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
I never said it was for Mayo. I have always said the Bogut+8th is for Beasley.
Mia could either pass on Beasley for Mayo, or the LAC-MIA trade could happen. Either of those makes Beasley a possibility.
Personally, I want Mayo.

Re: Bucks interested in #3
If we can establish this deal with Milwuakee, would then a trade up to Miami be worth it? The return of the MIA pick + 2008 #3 for the 2008 #2 to get Beasley and trade for the #8 + Bogut?
This makes it two firsts (one this year at #3 and a future first from MIA) for Bogut (former #1 pick) and #8 (Gallinari?)
If this pans out, is possibly keeping #3 is better? Probably, but I think I may still do the trade (granted, I like Gallinari more than most and think he has the 4th highest star potential of the draft).

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense and helps balance things out from the Wolves end.

Thanks for the response rev, I agree there is often a strong difference between fan's perceptions of players and the reality of their worth. In saying that I'm pretty sure there's not a GM out there who would consider this even close to equal value, if I was the Wolves and was offered it I'd jump all over it before Hammond woke up from whatever drug induced haze he'd have to be in to offer it in the first place. Bogut spent the second half of last season convincing us (with his play) that he's not far off becoming a 20/10 guy with excellent defense, passing and shotblocking ability (16ppg/10rpg/3apg/1.8bpg for the last 50 games of the season), to give up that AND the #8 for the #3.... well like I said the fans would revolt, and rightly so.
