Opening Day

Post#1 » by Train Wreck » Mon Apr 2, 2007 4:51 pm

I am seriosuly pumped... It's a beautiful day and things just feel good today.

Opening day is great when the Tigers have a bad team because there is the potential of great things. (Even when you knew better) Now, wow, I am pumped for this team... Craig Monroe as our #8 hitter? Are you serious? Thats how deep this lineup is...

I'm a little upset that I didn't fork over the $120 dollars for tickets but I did manage to weasel out of work so all is good. All is good..

Send Nasty Daddy over here to make some Series Threads or something : ) Do Aussie's like Baseball?

He worse than the Pistons

Alright, I'm talking to myself... Good Bye

Not a good start.. Bonderman can't throw strikes, Pudge can't throw anyone out..

Hopefully the bats can get going, Bonderman will likely settle down..

Big mistake there, Pudge should have had the DP

One more prediction, I'm thinking Monroe comes up Huge for the win in the bottom of the 9th.. (Provided we get through the top of the 9th unscathed)

Bonderman always seems to struggle in the first inning and needs to get over that if he wants to be our go-to pitcher and staff ace. Of course this being opening day probably exacerbated his usual first inning issues. And as bad as he was he only really gave up two runs, with Craig Monroe responsible for the other. Of course CMo also made that home-run robbing catch, but good plays don't make up for errors.

Our line-up 1-7 is pretty strong, Monroe and Inge are all or nothing hitters and are pretty easy outs to good pitchers. At least Inge amkes up for his bat with his defense at 3rd.

It's only one game and you really can't read into anything. That being said, a game at the beginning of the season is just as valuable as a game at the end.

Rodney is too inconsistant for my liking. I can accept that from young kids, but Fernando is 29-30 yrs old now.

I agree, Rodney has a habit of walking too many batters with nobody out and gets himself behind.

It seems that every other game Rodney comes in its an adventure as to whether he will come through or not.

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.
