It says a lot that in a scenario in which Beasley unexpectedly falls to Minnesota that you would even think about trading him to Seattle or Memphis. We never contemplated trading Durant last year when we got lucky. If Minnesota decision makers are split on the benefit of adding Beasley, then perhaps the public statements are not as rigid as stated above.
My view is Green won't be part of the comensation package for Beasley. Not because of a pure talent/production talent difference, but because Jeff Green's character and skill set are required for Durant and Beasley to flourish beyond just putting up numbers. Green is the potential glue that allows everything else to work.
If Minnesota decides to trade Beasley in an effort to get Love and extra compensation then Seattle would become the best trading partner, as we can guarantee Love in exchange and Memphis cannot.
Choose a fair combination of players and picks outside of Durant and Green and the deal is done in my mind.

Re: Sonics looking to trade up for Beasley.
I could ALMOST do a Green, #4 + for Beasley + Mccants + #31 + Boston's 09 pick
But I also agree with Tecture, keep Green and Durant out of it and you have a deal. I don't know what kind of young SF out there you're looking for, but possibly a 3 way trade could net one with Seattle sending out Wilcox and possibly another pick.
Wilcox to Indy for Shawne Williams? Milwaukee for Villnaeueva? Denver for Lineas Kleiza?
I'm drawing blanks here trying to think who may be available that fits the mold that you're thinking of.

Ah yes, draft week. Where rarely is spoken a truely honest word. I'd love it if all this move mountains talk was just to keep McHale focusing on the Seattle extortion effort. McHale picks Bayless. Presti picks OJ Mayo. Great.
Presti did not just crawl out from under a rock. He might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.
There is going to be a good player available to pick at #4. His name will be either OJ Mayo or Jerryd Bayless.

I agree with you DJ and even Heavy. I completely agree with you. I am not throwing out my idea. I am just discussing what I have heard. In that there are 2 situations that have been spoken about with Seattle. I understand not wanting to move Green (I would not want to move Brewer----you get attached to rookies) I am just discussing situations that have been discussed.

For sure, rev. It's all part of the deal. Makes it fun. Like a poker game.
More than any other draft I can remember, this rumors of this draft have been about teams trying to leverage picks. I think Riley started it all this year. He's such an arrogant ass. I've never liked him. Anyway, Thursday's going to be fun. Here's my favorite rumors (ie made up crap)...
- Bulls pick Rose, then initiate a three team trade...
Bulls trade Hinrich & Simmons for Wilcox, Watson & #24
Blazzers trade LaFrentz & #13 for Hinrich & Simmons
Sonics trade Wilcox, Watson & #24 for #13 & Przybilla
- Heat pick Mayo & trade him, Haslem & Blount to the Clippers for Brand
- Wolves pick Beasley & trade him & Jaric to the Grizzlies for #5 (Love) & Crittenton
- Sonics pick Bayless #4, Rush #13 & White #32

Re: Sonics looking to trade up for Beasley.
Problem with that situation is that MN is trading Beasley and Jaric for Love and Crittenton. The problem with that is the MN front office (in public and in private, so I can say this) has said they will only trade down if they get a pick they like as well as a young starter. (Crittenton is no better than McCants) They are not using th draft pick to shed cap.

Re: Sonics looking to trade up for Beasley.
I think Crittenton's got way more upside. I think he's going to be legit.
But like I said, it's all made up crap. It's only what happens Thursday that counts.

Re: Sonics looking to trade up for Beasley.
He could be legit, but McCants is incredibly underrated. His only problem is between the ears. Sometimes his attitude gets in the way. Not in a negative way, but he will try too hard on defense and botch up. Or sometimes force the issue and not work within the team concept. But his tools are crazy good. I hope he stays as the 6th man.
MN is crazy right now, utterly crazy. My phone gets 50+ text a day on these topics.
