Jefferson put up 21-11-50% 1.5 blks
I only saw about 5 games..but the guy is an absolute beast...the whole defense is sucked in and focused on him....imagine this guy surrounded with shooters. Oh and if his defense is as bad as advertised it can be hidden with a good defensive center. (People here tend to judge defense on what they hear rather than what they see, so it might not be that bad.)

Wade put up 25pts 7assists 5 rebounds 47%
Thats a bad year for him.....playing hurt with injuries to his knee, shoulder...coming off the bench a couple times, sorrounded by D-Leaguers. This is probably as bad as it gets.

Carmelo put up 26pts 7rebs 4assists
He has his weaknesses like defense and playoff performances, but hes a top 5 scorer in all of basketball. One of the best 1 on 1 players.

Derrick Rose is just as likely to be Devin Harris than he is Chris Paul .. Devin Harris is a middle of the pack Point Guard..Chris Paul is the best PG, just had as good a season as the all-time great PGs. Most likely hes somewhere in between those two...id trade the #1 pick for any of Wade, Jefferson, Carmelo.

Oddly enough, even given that the top pick hasnt been traded in 15 years, I could see that Chicago could be a team that would. Last year was a surprising down year for them while they were on the rise with their already young team.

While a draft pick will help them immensely it might not quite be a immidiete impact. Where as trading it and getting a already filled out star could put them back on track as if last year never happened.

Though I'd say its far from likely - I can see them fielding offers.

I don't think Miami is in a position to rebuild, they have too many veterans and not enough young players/picks to blow it up... but with a Rose and Beasley it would definately be a headstart if they decided to.

Isn't Rose projected to be a similar type of player to Wade, but being a point guard version? I don't get why Miami would trade for him when they have a proven winner and one of the leagues elite.

Also just curious, has any team in history ever held the 1st and 2nd picks in the same draft?

If you can get Wade I think you have to seriously consider trading it.

Wouldn't there be too many PR implications to tradeding a #1? If you can get a superstar it makes sense logically, but media wise you're suppose to be able to find taht superstar with the #1 pick.

CHI should draft BPA, and by the majority accounts that means Rose. See where you go from there.

Draft Rose, move Hinrich to the 2 with players he has been guarding anyways.. maybe trade Gordon for someone.. mix it up a little bit.

Are you guys basketball fans? Al Jefferson was putting up sick numbers this season, evensuperstal caliber. I don't think he's far off by calling him that at all.
He put up 21/11 on the season. What do you call those numbers?

But his team stunk so it must mean his numbers were meaningless. Never mind the efficiency. Never mind everyone's hero Kevin Durant was on the 2nd worst team in the league. He's the future, but Jefferson stinks!

Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, and Yao Ming are the only 3 other player to average 19/11 I believe.

And I believe Jefferson did what he did playing out of position.

I'd certainly rather have Wade, Melo, or Jefferson over Derrick Rose.

Beasley on the other hand is a unique enough talent to more than warrant the pick.

#1, TT and that dead weight formerly known as Larry Hughes for Wade is a great deal.

For who, Miami? No way.

#1 for Wade is not enough for Miami. They should be taking Beasley and they have Haslem already, so TT would be a 3rd string PF who does no good for Miami. And Hughes is a huge contract which Miami will not take if they're giving the best player in this deal.

LMAO at the thought of Miami trading Wade and taking on Larry Hughes' contract. I wouldn't do that trade for the top five picks in the draft.

I think he meant it was good for the Bulls. If miami does this deal, they're brain dead, and Im completely ignoring Hughes contract. I don't get why anyone would be willing to trade a young, proven, superstar for a rookie that they hope can be just as good as the superstar they already have. If the Bulls want DWade, it's going to take more then just the #1, a decent prospect, and a bad contract to match salary.

If I'm the Bulls I keep the pick.

Bulls are a young team and not on the brink to win anything....keep the pick and get Beasley since you already have Hinrich.

Beasley can handle the ball, rebound, and he can shoot the damn ball....hard to find in your 4 or "big" 3....wherever you play him he is going to be a nightmare matchup.

Obviously Rose is the hometown favorite and picking him is just as great too but you already have 2 "small" guards already.

And from the Heat's side...why would you even think about trading Wade? Is there some injury we don't know about?

Wade is a proven winner....a Finals MVP....an All-star superstar.....it doesn't make much sense.

Wade/Marion/Beasley or Rose is going to be fun to watch....just don't surround them with D-leaguers and inefficient chuckers.

If Riley does trade Wade....he'll only have to move a few more players and completely get rid of his entire 2006 Championship team.

Has this ever happened in the history of sports?

Considering that no one is going to offer what it would take for the Bulls to give up the #1 pick, they might as well go BPA (Rose) and do everything possible to develop him into a superstar.
