Alexander isn't being viewed as a reach at 8. His stock has been rising for weeks now. The Bucks aren't the only team that likes him. The Blazers are at 13 and like Alexander. Reports indicate they believe they'll have to trade into the Top 10 to get him.

I'm just going to stop trying to give hints you guys take things to the extreme.
There will be an exciting draft day for some and very depressing for others...
Talk about whatever scenarios you all wish. Only one of you was close so far...
Later guys.

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
If moving from 8 to 13 causes us to lose out on Alexander, then I'm really not down for a Portland deal. Nobody we can realistically obtain in a trade from them isn't going to be an impact guy. I really have no interest whatsoever in Donte Greene, a perimeter 3 that absolutely loves to shoot and is a questionable defender (hmm, where have we seen that before???)
And I agree with europa, Alexander at 8 is really no longer a reach.

Taking things to the extreme is the fun part. There is nothing else to talk about.

That's because of the Bucks, though. He's only viewed as a top ten pick because Milwaukee is in the top 10.

Not enough to take him ahead of Gordon or Mayo or probably even Augustin.

You guys are speculating too much. I apologize for the limited things I can give out, but realgm isn't going to cost someone their job. Sorry.
Listen, all you have to do to figure out the unknown is to group the knowns together and look big picture. I also never said the disappointment would be exactly about who we draft either.
However, with that said, I would choose Randolph over Alexander if I was the one drafting.
This seems to have been overlooked... but wich implies here that we HAVE made a promise to someone if we keep the pick. Inferring the disappointment on his part and that he said he would rather have Randolph, I think it's not Randolph. I also think the Portland deal is a possibility though...

I don't agree with that. Ford had an article about him as the sleeper of the draft before the Bucks even worked him out. His stock has just been rising. It's at the point now where it would be far more surprising he fell out of the lottery than if he was in the lottery. 8 isn't a reach for him.

Ya just heard on ESPN that the knicks called the bucks inquiring about the #8 pick to select Alexander

I think this part is interesting. One of us has been right thus far, but only one. So now we have to weed through all the single predictions that no one else agreed with

You're right. That's what I was getting at, but a necessary correction.

There's no way to know that (although I agree they wouldn't take him over Mayo in all probability). I just think Alexander has pretty much locked himself into the Top 10 right now.

In reviewing the post, hints, comments, etc. The only trade discussed that was somewhat dividing was the Bogut to Minn trade. In addition Wich originally stated Bogut and Yi would not be moved, and then came back to say he was wrong but did not specify about what. If something goes down, I will assume it is for Bogut. No other trade discussed would be "very depressing for others..." The only true split on the board was in discussing Bogut.

Not that it necessarily means that much but Hollingers ratings just listed Alexander as being the best wing in the draft. Based on recent reports it seems like Randolph would be more of a reach at 8 than Alexander at this point.

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
Looks like the Bucks are having a tough time deciding what to do with the 8th pick
Alexander makes another visit

The Bucks worked out six draft prospects who are expected to be drafted late in the first round or early in the second Monday, but the most interesting player to walk into the team's training facility was West Virginia's Joe Alexander who was back in town for a second visit with team officials.
Alexander, a 6-foot-9 forward who was one of the first players the Bucks worked out in preparation for the draft, is being projected as a possible top 10 pick and has been paired up with Milwaukee is some mock drafts at No. 8.
The Bucks did not announce that Alexander was back and only after being told that Alexander had been seen in the building did coach Scott Skiles speak briefly about him.
"We wanted to have another conversation with him," said Skiles. "There were just some other things that we wanted to ask him. We got an opportunity to visit with him last time and there are some things that we want to talk to him about."
Skiles said that LSU forward Anthony Randolph, another player who has linked to the Bucks and worked out here with Alexander, had not been back for a second visit.
Alexander was not available for comment.
Skiles was asked if Alexander's return indicated that the team had a high level of interest in him.
"Or, that we had comfort level with a couple of the other guys and we may need some more time to sort the whole thing out," said Skiles.
Working out for the Bucks Monday were Ramel Bradley of Kentucky, Gary Forbes of Massachusetts, James Gist of Maryland, Stefhon Hannah of Missouri, Damjan Rudez of Croatia, and Mark Tyndale of Temple. All might be available when the Bucks use their 37th overall pick in the draft.
"We'll get a good player there," said Skiles. "I'm confident in that. We'll get a good guy there. And, depending on the depth of our team, hopefully you can get a guy that can come in and help you a little bit. If not, then maybe you take more of a developmental guy who you think maybe long-range has a pretty good future or something like that. We'll get a good guy there. That's a good pick."
The Bucks plan to have another group of players in for a workout on Tuesday.

Very interesting. The statistical stuff has swung me around into the Alexander camp, though it's difficult to say what his repeat visit means. We already knew he was in the discussion, so I don't think it definitely says anything.
FWIW Randolph was less horrific when categorized as an SF in Hollinger's system, and Hammond's now alluded to Randolph being an SF in their opinion. I will hope for the best if we take him, but I definitely would sleep better at night with Love, Westbrook or Alexander.

Yep, yep, and yep.
I've actually resigned to the fact that Westbrook won't be there at 8, but now after reading everything this week, it seems he could be yet again. That'd be sweet with me.

We are not drafting anyone because we are trading our pick and we are not trading for draft pick?
We are trading our pick together with player(s) for veteran help?
If I am right you can tell me that on ilhan_the_white@yahoo.com. I promise to not tell that to anyone. Thanks
