Do Clippers say "yes" to this?
On the Clippers board they seem up for a Brewer and Harpring for Maggette sign and trade. I personally would do this in a second. What do you think?

NO.
How does this help our situation? Now Maggs comes off the bench and CJ starts. If they want AK, Almond for Maggs and fillers then I would say yes. As purposed...NO.

AKs value is impossible to determine right now. He is an impact player who hasn't made a real impact in 2 years, but is still paid like it. I would not trade him for Maggette, and I still don't understand what people are thinking by always linking us to him. We have a nice stable of young wings with diverse skill sets. Why oh why would we trade one of them for an older guy with an injury history who might not fit what we do? Its a lateral move for crying out loud.

I agree with you and I hope the Jazz keep Almond, Miles and Brewer together because I think that will be a great tandem in 2 yrs. I like our future there.

Maggette's a good player and, even though he's not as talented as AK, he's more consistent generally. However, he has a history of injuries, a propensity for strife with coaches and management (that sure bodes well for a team with Jerry Sloan and Larry Miller), and as mentioned above, he's older than the guys we have too. I'll pass.

im not sure how ak got into this conversation. if the clips would do it for brewer and harpring, i would do it in a second. Mags is better right now than brew and getting rid of harp is addition by subtraction as well as frees up a roster spot. this is a know brainer. however, i would not trade ak. but he was not part of the post. besides, alomond and cj are still here........we cant play all 3.

But don't you have the same problem by that logic? You just replace Brewer with Maggette, and you still "can't play all three."

The biggest thing is that Brew is a good player, getting better all the time, on a rookie wage scale. There isn't much overall difference between the two (he and Corey), and in fact I could make a strong argument that Ronnie is as good or better than him at this point, and yet you'll pay 5 or 6 times as much for Maggette than for Brewer. You suck up all the money you save by getting rid of Harpring and more with Mags' new contract.
Its just stupid.

I do not think that Utah should do this trade (because Brewer is a good chemistry guy) but let's not kid ourselves , there is no way he is a better player than Maggette at this point or even on the same level.
- Maggette was a 22 POINTS SCORER LAST YEAR ! Without any good point guard i might add
- He has a three point shot (38% last year !)
- He is much stronger than Brewer and a better defender at this point
Brewer will maybe never be a 22 pts scorer in this league , so saying he is better than Maggette RIGHT NOW is ludicrous.

I actually agree that Maggette is clearly better than Brewer at this point, but I'd still rather have Brew right now. He's on a rookie contract, does many of the same things on the court, doesn't bitch and moan like Corey, and has tremendous upside still.
