Re: Top 100 Players in the NBA
after the top 25, the rest just looks awful.
commend u on the effort, but there's a reason people don't do lists this large.
i think you really overrate some of the lakers.
they have 7 players in the top 100? kobe, gasol, odom, bynum, sure. fisher, farmar? no.
one thing i noticed is that u really underrate centers. howard under williams? yao behind tmac and manu? as i kept reading i thought kaman at 55 was bad then i saw horford, jefferson (yikes), bogut, haywood, biedrins all completely underrated.

Re: Top 100 Players in the NBA
Congrats on the list, must have been a massive undertaking. But as dccash4 said, there's a reason people don't try to do lists this large.
There are many many positions I disagree with but I'll narrow it down to purely from a Bucks fan POV (in other words someone who occasionally watches the bucks play), having Bynum at 34 and Bogut at 75 is absolutely ridiculous. They came into the league the same year, Bogut has outperformed Bynum in every single one of those seasons, and his numbers for the second half of this season in particular are well above anything Bynum has ever put together (16ppg/10rpg/3apg/1.9bpg after January 1, around 50 games)
Bynum is younger I understand that and may rank above Bogut on that alone, but you mentioned age was only factored in 'somewhat', having Bynum that high based on 30 games this season and having Bogut that low is miles out.
Okur, Haywood, Dalambert, Z, Horford, Shaq all above Bogut as C's or big PF's? No no and no, Sheed is questionable (obviously shaq is an all time great, but on this seasons play he's barely a top 10 center).
I'm guessing maybe your a big fan of guards and don't pay too much attention to C's? I'd suggest it might be worth going back through a few threads on here and checking some 'top ten centers at the end of the season' type threads to get a better feel for them. Also you have Michael Redd at 36 compared with Bogut at 75, yet most Bucks fans will tell you Bogut overtook him as the Bucks best all around player in the second half of this season.
It's just to hard to get a good read on every single player in the league to make one of these lists, but like I said I commend you for trying.

Carter is mad underrated, he's still a 20/5/5 player with solid defense and imroved efficiency. People keep looking at what he could have been and rightfully so but they fail to realize what type of player he is now which is still pretty damn good.

So for your championship team, you'd want players like Lamar Odom, Hedo Turkoglu, Michael Redd, Antawn Jamison, Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller etc. over every single player on the Pistons team?
I would say yes...I think you could plug each of those players in for the Pistons who plays their position and they'd be a better team, except for perhaps Odom and Jamison.
If you replace Odom for Prince, the Pistons defense would suffer, but their rebounding would improve and their transition game would improve slightly.
I think they would be more dangerous with Turkoglu at the 3 than Prince because I think Turkoglu is a much better shooter and all around scorer...the defense would get worse though.
I think Redd would be an upgrade over Hamilton.
I think that Jamison replacing Sheed would make them worse, but those two are suited for different styles of play, kind of like Odom and Prince are.
Iguodala would inject energy and athleticism that they lack and would likely make them slightly better, and Andre Miller would be a marginal upgrade over Billups in my opinion.
I realize all those Pistons have won a title, but a huge reason for that is because they were playing alongside 4 other very good players (since Ben Wallace was still a monster then), and had a great coach in Larry Brown. None of those players you list above have played alongside as much talent as each member of the Pistons has.
I'm not talking about positional upgrades (though Andre Miller over Billups is total bs), you're saying those guys are better than ALL of Pistons players. You'd take Odom/Jamison/Turk/Redd etc. over Billups for your championship team? Good luck winning one.

Yeah, its really tough once you get past the top 50. It's even a little tough once you get past the top 25.
I think Fisher deserves a very low spot on the list. He's won in the past, and he's a very good shooter, a very good defender, he knows his role, and he's a high character guy. He's a guy I'd want on my team if I was looking to win a championship. Farmar might not deserve a spot, but I like what I've seen from him, and he's very young.
Regarding Dwight Howard, I know he's an absolute beast, but I dont think you can just throw him the ball late in games and expect to get points or even a good look for others. He is a great player for sure, but he needs to improve. He will in the next few years, and he'll likely climb up to number 2 in the not too distant future.
Yeah, I think I might underrate some of those centers. I want to see Yao win something or show some raw emotion out there. I think he's very talented and true centers are rare, but if you put a gun to my head and told me I had to choose between him and T-Mac or him and Manu for next few years, I would pick T-Mac and Manu. He is a lot younger than them though, so maybe that should be the tiebreaker.
I made a ton of changes to the list since I first made it, and I'm sure if I read through it again today, I'd make a ton more changes. Players are always helping and hurting their stock too...I wouldnt have had Paul Pierce so high if it werent for his great playoff performances, and Ray Allen would have been a decent amount higher if not for dissapearing for 2 rounds....but then again, there are a lot of great players who didnt get the chance to help or hurt their stock because their teams didnt make the playoffs, so that complicates things even more. I can understand most of the criticisms made about the list, but not some of the Vince Carter cries claiming he's a top 20 player and whatnot...he's just not.

Why is Jordan Farmer on your top 100 but not Ronnie Brewer?

How are you ranking injured players? A healthy Brand, Arenas, and Wade are all higher than where you have them. There are a lot of other flaws in that list. I respect you for trying to make a top 100 though. Here's my top 20. Tell me what you guys think. Assume that every player is 100% healthy in my list.
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Lebron James
3. Kevin Garnett
4. Dwyane Wade
5. Tim Duncan
6. Chris Paul
7. Tracy McGrady
8. Steve Nash
9. Elton Brand
10. Dwight Howard
11. Dirk Nowitzki
12. Amare Stoudemire
13. Yao Ming
14. Gilbert Arenas
15. Paul Pierce
16. Allen Iverson
17. Baron Davis
18. Carlos Boozer
19. Chris Bosh
20. Carmelo Anthony

Steve Nash shouldn't be on your list and not Deron Williams.

Re: Top 100 Players in the NBA
if they're healthy, I put Wade at #3, with Kobe and Lebron..so many people have forgotten how good this guy was when he was healthy..
way too much love to T-Mac..#7?..
Nash is way too high, seems his D is worse than ever, and his age is catching up..
Howard is way too low..he's too dominant to be at 10..same with Yao if you aren't considering health..
Arenas is way too high after the season he just had IMO..

Re: Top 100 Players in the NBA
Arenas played 17 games and started 10 games. That's not a good indication of the kind of player he is. I was thinking about putting Wade at 3, but Garnett gets extra points for his defense.
