Powe Praises Howard

Post#1 » by BoricuaBoi » Mon Jun 23, 2008 3:47 pm

I was listening to the Herd on ESPN radio, and Leon Powe was a guest on his show. Collin asked him who he thought had the most hops in the league, and Powe said Howard. He also said he is the toughest guy to defend in the NBA. He mixes strength with agility so well its almost impossible to guard him. Collin agreed, and added that Howard is one of his favorite players, and amongst the best in the league. The only thing I didnt like is that he said that if he wasnt in Orlando he would be so much more popular. Even though he's right it made me kind of mad.

just called me old fashioned but I hate that crappy teams like the knicks, jets, mets ( even though I kinda like them), get all the pub because their in New York. If that city is soooo demanding on perfection why is it that all those teams have stunk up the joint for so long. even the yankees havent done anything in like six years. i just think the media puts too much enphasis on " large market cities" we are one of the most populated cities in the U.S how are we small market. I can understand milwakee, minesota, and even indiana but why so much hate towards O-town

its not hate... its a fact.... orlando just isnt a big media market for sports teams... its cool we can still love our team... just dont expect some dude in the northwest to know the magic like we do... if the nba gives us some more nationally televised games next year this will change some...

yea but in our young 20 year history we have been one of the most winningest teams since our creation in 88. so why cant we get any pub, even philly is getting just as much pub as us, and they are no where in our league. cleveland in my opinion cant even stand next to us and they get pub. what because of Lebron shames. Dwight will win a ring before he ever does mark my words.

Howard is the Best Center in the East, has a long term deal, is healthy, and has a good supporting cast that balance his talents. What's not to like???

i would've imagined that Dwight would be so marketable that it'd be in the league's best interest to make him a major face of the league, no matter what team he's on. he's young. he's freakishly athletic. he won the dunk contest. he's entertaining. he has great character. and he's a top 5 prospect. why wouldn't the league make a big deal about him???

Because Dwight is a glorified David Lee.

because big man arent as marketable as guards.... little kids usually dont grow up saying i want to be a center and anchor the defense... its just not how the little midgets think.... but the nba will push dwight much more next year... when the national tv schedule comes out for next year we will see... i think we have had like 2-3 games on national tv each of the last two years.... we will probably get at least dbl that because of our success this past season....
