Who will fall out of the top 10?

Post#1 » by cdash » Tue Jun 24, 2008 9:18 pm

In various mock drafts, I have seen each of these guys (who most consider top 10 picks) drop to Indiana territory. Who do you guys think is the most likely to fall?

I'd say Gallinari with Gordon a close second. The Bucks are the only team to have a glaring need at SF, and they are also enamored with Joe Alexander and perhaps Anthony Randolph.

Bayless won't get past the Sonics, Knicks, and Clippers. Lopez doesn't fall past the Bobcats or Nets.

I've been saying for a month now that Westbrook & Augustin both go top 10. There is just a premium on PG's now, and both players have superior assets to help them become good PG's (Westbrook- athleticism/defense; Augustin- distribution skills/shooting).

That concluded me to believe Gallinari would be the one to fall out of the Top 10. NYK taking him would be a joke. Can you say Skitizsvili again? I can understand NYN at #10, but why? Why move Jefferson to use Nachbar and Gallinari as your primary SF's? That doesn't make sense to me.

I believe Gallinari will fall which will tie the Pacers hands. I think this will force Bird to reach unless Alexander is there. Primary candidates for a reach would be: Ryan Anderson, Kosta Koufus, Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, Darrell Arthur, or Roy Hibbert.

I sure hope it is Gordon. Would it be possible to see Gordon on the board and not take him? I sure hope not.

The Clippers are very high on Russell Westbrook but are in serious talks to get Barbosa from the Suns. That would change things up alot. It also matters if Milwaukee grabs Anthony Randolph or not. If those two things happen, we could see a big time player drop, like Bayless, Gordon or even Westbrook to the 11th pick.

I don't see Bird passing on Gordon. Based on his comments today, and the fact that he was enamored with an inferior Ben Gordon a few drafts ago. I don't care if EJ can't play the point, he immediately become one of the best players on this team.

I think Gordon.

Brook Lopez is a center and the only one slotted for the top 10. Nets, Bobcats and Grizzlies need one. Seems one would take him.

Gallinari I think will be gone and has a promise he can live with. Seattle, Knicks, Clippers, Bobcats could all use a PG like Bayless. Can't see him slipping through.

Gordon is the easiest position to fill in the NBA (a wing) and doesn't have amazing height or ball-handling skills. He could be the odd man out.

Ultimately I doubt any of these guys drop out of the top 10.

Well you have Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Love, Bayless, Gordon, Lopez, Westbrook, Galliarni, Augustin, Randolph and Alexander. Two of those guys will fall out of the top 10. I am going out on a limb and saying Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Love, Alexander, Bayless, Lopez, and Westbrook are locks. That means out of Augustin, Galliarni, Gordon, and Randolph two of them should be there when we pick. I do believe the Nets would take Galliarni, so I really think Gordon, Augustin and Randolph are our three most logical picks that will most likely be on the board. I would LOVE to grab Gordon.

PS- Has anyone seen the new mock draft on here? They have us PASSING UP GORDON to take Augustin. I would be sick for weeks if that happened.

I was looking at the mock draft on ESPN and they have Bayless dropping out of the top ten. If Minny goes big with Brook Lopez or Love, Seattle will have to take Mayo and Memphis goes for the other big. Leaving the knicks with the choice of Westbrook or Bayless prob take Westbrook. The clips would then be looking at Gordon or Bayless, they could take Bayless, or trade to get Barbosa, if they did get Barbosa and keep the pick they'll likely go with Gillinari. Bucks will take Alexander, the Bobs will take a big as will the Nets and Bayless or Gordon should slip to us.

No way both Gordon and Bayless slip to us. There is a 0% chance.

I agree I wasn't saying they both drop out, someone is gonna be trading their pick, Memphis is said to be talking trade with Miami or anyone who will take on brian cardinal. Seattle might deal their pick the clips are looking to trade, so some things will change at the last min. My bet is Gordon will be there at 11.

If memphis is really willing to give up the #5 I say we deal with them. Give them Foster, Daniels and Williams for Darko and Cardinal plus the #5. That saves them a year on both players and they get hometown kid Williams. Then use the #5 to move Tinsley to clips for Tim Thomas and the #7, go big here and take the best PG at 11.

Then again, in 2005 no way Granger and Green fall to 17 and 18...

This draft is nutty. I am not ruling out anything. The only thing I am reasonably comfortable saying is that Derrick Rose will be the top pick. I'm sure Beasley will be second, but to which team? Crazy draft. I might have a coronary at the Fieldhouse.

I would be ecstatic if we managed to steal Jerryd Bayless at #11.

I simply don't see Ryan Anderson going before the #22 pick or so, if he goes in the first round at all. I also don't see the Pacers reaching for Hibbert at #11, but rather, possibly trying to acquire a later 1st round pick to pick up Roy Hibbert.

I could possibly see the Pacers reaching for Brandon Rush at #11 though. It'd be a reach, but it wouldn't be the absolutely worst thing ever.

Return to Indiana Pacers
