The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Hornets to acquire the 27th pick in the draft for cash considerations, a Blazers source told ESPN.com.

What were the Hornets thinking?

Maybe the Hornets didn't like anybody in the first round and wanted some extra cash??

BTW, I don't think the Blazers are going to keep this pick. I think we will use it to spice up a trade to either move up in the draft, get a better SF, or get a legit starting PG.

Just a hunch.

Portland will need a football roster to stash all those players they acquired these past couple off seasons.

So a New Orleans team in need of some quality depth trades away their only 1st round pick in a deep draft for money? I have to question their motives on this one.

They should move up for Jerryd Bayless.........hes an excellent player off the ball and an excellent spot up shooter, thats perfect next to Roy........he can also shoot off the dribble, get to the FT line ....man im excited if they do that and thats not even my team.

Here we go with Portland's shopping spree :)

Hornets really took over for Phoenix well... selling the pick for cash considerations, and lacking depth.

We should have done that trade. Cash for the Hornets pick, then we can move up in the draft and get a 3rd scorer.

Hornets are becoming the Suns. They're not serious about winning championships. Chris Paul will not resign with them when he becomes a free agent.
