Best Sun never to play for another NBA team?

Post#1 » by Cash » Sat Jun 7, 2008 8:14 pm

So with the offseason on us, I figure it's a good time for a question I've been thinking about for a while. Who is the best all-time Phoenix Sun who never played anywhere else? It's a tough question, because most of our all-time greats played elsewhere as well:

Nash - Dallas
KJ - Cleveland
Kidd - Dallas/New Jersey
Barkley - Philly/Houston
Majerle - Cleveland/Miami
Marion - Miami
Nance - Cleveland
Chambers - San Diego/Seattle/Utah

Before the Shaq trade, I would've said Shawn Marion, but now, I'm thinking it's probably Alvan Adams. I'm not much of a basketball historian, so I don't know much about the pre-90s teams. Can anyone name a better "exclusive Sun" than Adams? If not, then who would you say is #2 all-time? I have absolutely no idea on that one.

Amare Stoudemire should be taking away Adams spot down the road if he stays

It's definitely Adams ahead of Amare at the moment...

Cripes only other career Sun (min 5 years) I could find was Alvin Scott

Cool Sig TASTIC! I need a new sig now LOL.
Suns fan during the KJ era (Coliseum), through the Barkley era (Am West Arena), and now the Nash era (US Airways Arena)!

Yeah, Amare's on pace to take the top spot. But that would require him to play his whole career with us, which is far from guaranteed.

Yeah socks was well traveled, I remember him in NJ as well, pretty sure he was on a couple teams before he was in the CBA.

Now I'm intrigued, I gotta look it up.

Barbosa has also been here 5 years but it seems his day are numbered.

The way things stand right now, I'll be pretty surprised if Barbosa never plays for another team. Although honestly, I'd say the same thing about Amare. I expect we'll trade him for a 37-year-old Duncan once Shaq retires.
