lue is one of the few players in the league that i absolutely cant stand to watch. thinking about him playing for the Cs seriously lessens my positive vibes. i know KG is friends with him, but not all of Kg's decisions are great, he almost didnt want to come here, he doesnt play for the US team anymore...

cant stand lue, will vomit if he signs here, and probably watch the bruins every time he steps on the floor

I agree, I've never liked Lue's game. The corn-row mullet look was awful, too!!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Lue would be a solid back-up PG. He is a good defender, good 3 pt shooter and he is an agressive playmaker. Come to think of it, everything that Sam unfortunately couldn't be for us in the playoffs (except for maybe 2 games). So what's not to like? I hope he'll sign with the Celtics.

With Lue I believe Injury has to be of concern. If I was not going to resign eddie I would go with my 2nd round pick of last season in Pruitt and draft another 2nd rounder maybe this season.
I also believe there was a couple in the D-league last season that will be free agents.

After all a dynasty isn't made bye picking #1 every year, it's managed and through the coaching and leadership of coaches and veteran players a team can actully manufacture better players than bye picking at #1.

Coaches useing the film of a great working system to teach younger players while having the team members like KG, Ray Allen, and The Truth to help teach and to help with leadership on and off the court as well.

I am not saying I wouldn't resign poz, because if I could I certainly would. But Even Perkins and Rondo will certainly be nice help next year to the coaching staff as the younger players will look up to them as well.

The best thing for anyones career is certainly, to learn from the best, and for most part of the young freeagents will be advised to go to Boston over other teams and or more money bye there agents.

Make no mistake about it, nothing help's your career more, than simply being a student or subject of greatness. Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

lue also stikes me as a me-first guy, and not that any point guard we bring in would be considered in contention for rondo's spot, but how would the chemistry be there? every time i watch lue play i cant stand him, hes not an ineffective player, but i dont think hes good either. hes quick and annoying, hes like a mosquito.

i feel the way about lue that many people feel about ron artest, he just rubs me wrong, his look, his game, his facial expressions, i feel like hes a punk. (that may not be fait i dont know him personally, its just the vibes i feel) i would disenjoy his time here. like wally. i was thrilled when wally was gone because i liked everyone on the team again.

and i had positive vibes about everyone we signed last year, so im going to be shallow and say that we shouldnt sign any FAs i dont feel good about because it isnt what worked last year.

This seems petty. Posey can be a bit of a "punk' but I loved having him on my team. Wally I didn't like but mostly because he sucks and is injury prone. :P

The only reason for Lue hate should be that the cornrow mullet is hideous, & I always thought he looked like those spitter dinosaurs that killed Newman in Jurassic Park or to a similar extent, JarJar Binks, ugly dude and it gives me no pleasure to see his face.

Eddie on the other hand, total badass, his son is a badass, and we all secretly enjoy his individualized handshakes...

beyond that, Lue for the LLE or minimum contract is the better deal. Like it's been said, he actually has point guard handles, he SHOOTS BETTER/MORE CONSISTENTLY THAN HOUSE, the man known for his shot, regardless of what the stats say (especially considering he's been in pierce land playing on poor teams, with young kids, w/ no semblance of a coherent defensive rotation plan in place), he did a phenomenal job 1 on 1 against Iverson in the Finals when he was a one man show, he stays in front of his man, and I have no doubt he'd excel here w/ kg and perk behind him.

the biggest factor, if we lose Rondo for 10-20 games (and hell, definitely a possibility w/ how the kid plays and how often he hits the deck) are we ready to roll w/ house or pruitt starting for the long while. Not I, but I'd have no reservations at all handing the keys to the ugly stand in for king koopa in the Super Mario Bros movie from the early 90s.

Ugly yes, perfect fit for the cost, yes.

Well said.

I also imagine that Lue, not unlike Posey becomes the guy you love when he is on your team as opposed to the guy you hate when he is on another.

He should be required to pick that thing out though.

avi623 wrote:I'm not exactly sure where the Lue hate is coming from. He can shoot, bring the ball up, and is a half way decent defender. We wouldn't ask him to be Chris Paul. Here is the list of unrestricted free agent point guards this summer:

-Eddie House
-Sam Cassell
-Chris Duhon
-Tyronn Lue
-Anthony Carter
-Lindsey Hunter
-Dan Dickau
-Smush Parker
-Jason Williams
-Royal Ivey
-Darrell Armstrong
-Jannero Pargo
-Carlos Arroyo
-Keyon Dooling
-Kevin Ollie's corpse
-Anthony Johnson
-Beno Udrih
-Damon Stoudamire

That's the list. Now consider we are going to have to pony up dough for Posey, essentially eliminating the following players: Duhon, Arroyo, Pargo, Udrih, and probably Jason Williams, and that Hunter isn't going anywhere, Lue doesn't seem like such a bad option. Plus, he has championship experience with the Lakers, which never hurts.

I will be interested to see what Duhon gets this offseason. He is obviously a backup and not a starter. With Rose, Heinrich, Hughes and Gordon there is will be no room for him in Chicago. I imagine they also trade someone in that group. Will someone offer full MLE money for Duhon?

For the LLE Lue is fine.
