RealGM fan mock draft: Nuggets on the clock!
using knowledge of recent reports from the team you follow most closely, please form an educated guess as to whom your team will select and why.
this is not about who you want your team to draft, but who you think they want to draft given the situation below.
after posting this thread in every board leading up to yours, i've got this Draft Board:
1. Chicago - Rose
2. Miami - Beasely
3. Minnesota - Mayo
4. Seattle - Bayless
5. Memphis - Love
6. New York - Westbrook
7. LA Clippers - Gordon
8. Milwaukee - B.Lopez
9. Charlotte - Randolph
10. New Jersey - Gallinari
11. Indiana - Augustin
12. Sacramento - Arthur
13. Portland - Alexander
14. Golden State - Rush
15. Phoenix - R.Lopez
16. Philadelphia - Jordan
17. Toronto - Hibbert
18. Washington - Greene
19. Cleveland - Koufos
20. Denver - ??
i'm very interested to read your responses! you're on the clock!
don't forget to provide a reason why you think your teams management will draft player x given the situation above. please don't just post a name of a player, those are usually ignored for a more intelligent / in depth reply.

Mario Chalmers. One of the most NBA ready players in the draft can give the Nuggets the kind of point guard that they need. He brings solid defense, a good outside shot, and can also drive to the basket. He instantly can be a contributor and possible a starter. With him being a semi-combo guard, he can be a great fit next to Iverson as he wont be forced to handle the ball as much as a normal nba point guard and can also guard opposing 2s on defense.

stern:with the 20th pick in the 2008 draft the denver nuggets select"
mario chamlers from the university of kansas!let's go to realgm's draft guru to break down the pick...mr.24 take it away!
great pick by the nuggets whom I may add is starving for a point guard to get the ball into the hands of melo and ai and allow them to do what they do best, score!
not only does super mario have the skill set to step in and start right away and bring order to the denver nuggets offense but he'd bring the much needed hard nose perimeter defense that denver sorely lacked this pass season.
mario has one of the better shooting forms in this yrs draft and shots the ball at a very high clip from downtown.being that iverson and anthony will continue to see double and triple teams mario would may defenders pay for helping off of him...unlike journeyman anthony carter.not to mention he's not afraid of taking the big shots...just ask the memphis tigers!
quick recap...he can run a team,he can shoot the ball very well, and he plays very good defense.sounds like everything the denver nuggets need!
this is ya boy,the draft guru mr.24k,aka mr. "I know what the hell i'm talking about" signing off.back to you guys in the booth!
standing ovation!!!

i Hiiiiighly doubt they pick chalmers. you know why? cus we easily have the dumbest front office in the league since NY cleaned up a little. They're just not smart enough to pick him, but hey i hope im wrong... they'll probably pick Serge Ibaka or Ajinka.

Re: RealGM fan mock draft: Nuggets on the clock!
chlmers seems like the popular pick, but did the front office give you guys any reason to think so?
such as bringing him in for more than one workout... praising his workout... declaring the need to draft best player available, or draft for need (pg).
anything like that to add?

I hope its not chalmers, rather take a gamble on a big than draft some mediocre PG prospect who plays out of control at times.

i wish there were more responses go judge this by.
unfortunately my time here has run out. i have to move on if i'm going to finsih the first round before the draft starts.
i'm gonna put you guys down for chalmers because even though there was never really an argument for him (mostly just personal opinions), there was also no argument against him.
good luck tomorrow in the draft.

I'd pick Chalmers but imo he doesn't have a high ceiling... imo he would be a Chris Duhon type of player. At this point, the best available should be Marreese Speights. He is thick and nimble on the low post and can shoot 15 footers. He will really help defensively and offensively as the second true low post scorer after Nene. He'd be a steal. Second choice should be Jason Thompson and then JJ Hickson.

Re: RealGM fan mock draft: Nuggets on the clock!
McGee has the highest ceiling IMO, of any of the remaining picks. I saw him live literally destroy UNLV's frontcourt, but then again, we had the smallest frontcourt in the history of basketball. However, I don't think he is as likely to reach that ceiling as others (I really like Jason Thompson), so he may not be the right choice.
Also, as a Nuggets fan at UNLV, I don't know how much I would enjoy watching a Nevada Wolfpack product on my team........

Re: RealGM fan mock draft: Nuggets on the clock!
I can see the nuggets going big and like unlv,I like jason thompson as well.it all really depends on what trades are made draft night...is camby going to be moved?if so it depends on wat we get in return.camby, adkins for hinrich,2nd.
who and whatever they decide they better make the right move.imo chalmers, thompson, speights could all be the right choice.however some of you truly underestimate chalmers.all this talk about ceilings and potential is highly over rated.give me the guy who can play now

Re: RealGM fan mock draft: Nuggets on the clock!
Alexis Ajinca would be my first option, though I'd be surprised if he was still around. A big man with all around skills and athleticism. He's been impressing in camps so far and works hard.
JaVale McGee was a guy I was really high on until I heard about how he acts in camps. Throwing fits at himself for missing easy shots, hanging his head when something doesn't go his way, and forcing bad shots to make up for his last mistake. They say he starts out OK, but once he gets frustrated his whole game falls apart, even missing some open dunks...
Still, I like his potential, and at this pick it wouldn't be much of a gamble.
Marreese Speights would be an easy guy to mold to the player we want. He has a shot, sees the floor well, a solid frame, and great athleticism. Add him with a solid point guard and we could go a long way.
I would also be OK with Jason Thompson, Nicolas Batum, and Serge Ibaka.
I just don't want Mario. Other than Defense, he doesn't bring much to the table. With Chucky coming back, AI playing 40+, JR and Linas playing 20-30, he wouldn't play nearly enough for his defense to make any kind of impact in games.

Well, its a moot point. Heard the Nuggets just traded their pick to CHA for a procted first rounder next year. On the radio, no link yet, but should be annouced soon.

I like it. Depends on how protected the pick is. Top 5? Top 10?

SPEIGHTS.
are people serious?
speights and greene are too good to pass on at this stage, despite team needs.
