I don't know... Beasley didn't seem to happy about coming...

Post#1 » by Calinks » Wed Jun 25, 2008 5:19 pm

They just talked to him and he seemed worried for his life. Maybe he's just nervous but I didn't really get good vibes. Also he said he hasn't even talked with Minnesota or Seattle so he would be pretty shell shocked. I think dude is going to be pretty upset if he doesn't go 2.

Does anyone have a link to that phone call he made expressing relief that MN wasn't in the top 2?

Yeah, well what're you gonna do. Keep him or work out something like Bogt+8. If Mayo goes 2, there aren't a lot of option. You take Beasley, and you only move him if you get superb value. You don't panic and trade him for Kevin Love and cash or some **** like that.

They talked to him on ESPN's draft show that's on right now. He didn't say anything like he wouldn't play for us or anything like that but he seemed very worried about falling out of the top two. He even said he was scared. I think it doesn't help that he has no idea what Minnesota and Seattle are doing because he hasn't talked to them yet. Seems like his agent dropped the ball I'd at least talk to the number 3 team if I was said to go 2.

Now ESPN is kind of downplaying Mayo. Oh Mayo is talking now!

It is scared about dropping out of the top two or scared about coming to MN specifically?

Either way you draft the mofo and force his hand. I think its pretty unlikely he'd refuse to play all together.

Ok Mayo just confirmed that Miami worked him out again yesterday. He doesn't seem too convinced that they liked him enough to take him at two. He said he would be happy if he went number two and he would like to play with D-Wade but it doesn't matter where he goes. He said it's a blessing to go anywhere. He's happy to have the opportunity.

LOL Mayo is a pretty smart interviewee. They asked him about how he gets over his dark clouds and he said that the gym is his sunlight. LOL.

Yeah, what exactly are you referring to?

Btw, Beasley just said the following on his blog:

So that's it. I can't wait to see where I'm going to get drafted. Just being able to have the opportunity to play in the NBA is incredible so I'm not hung up on the Who's #1 debate. Wherever I go I'm going to work hard and show my team that they made the right decision.

If he meant just Chicago and Miami, I don't know. But I do know that during this time of year people seem to be taking every little bit of information and taking it to the extreme.

I like Chris Broussard. That guy actually knows what we are about. Beasley was asked about maybe going #3 to us or #4 to Seattle and he gave the "scared for my life, why did you ask me that" nervous smile, ignored talking about Minny and said "Im just hoping for the best". Now he isnt saying he doesnt want to play here, but he hasnt come out and said he would be fine with it.

I almost want Chicago to take Beasley so Rose can go to Miami and we can grab Mayo. Not saying I wouldnt take Beasley at #3, but he's coming off like a stuck up prick lately.

I assume he's more afraid of falling out of the top two but also some of it has to be with coming here or Seattle. He said he hasn't talked to either of those teams so the way they operate is pretty unknown to him. He didn't seem to want t acknowledge the possibility of falling out though. I'm pretty sure he will NOT be happy if he feel out for various reasons. Not to say he wouldn't get over it. He probably would have a big chip on his shoulder though against Miami.

I kinda think Miami is just floating B.S. cause Beasley seems pretty shocked by this. Earlier he was pretty confident that he would go 1 or 2 and now Miami has just shattered his universe with these rumors. That has to bother ya.

I like where the Grizzlies are headed, they have a lot of talent and have filled almost every position.

PG - Conley
SG -
SF - Gay
pf - Love
C - M. Gasol

All they need is a new SG and they are good to go, or maybe they could trade Miller + 5 for #2 and take Beasley at 2 and Gordon at 5.

I think that Beasley mainly doesn't want to fall in the draft. I'm more bothered that Mayo wasn't willing to come to the Target Center for a workout.

They are going to interview Bayless soon.

I know they had a feature on Brook Lopez on a show last night and he was excited about the possibility of coming here. Once again he said the wolves were one of his favorite teams and he seems to know our player personal pretty well. He talked about Al Jefferson and playing with him. Said he hopes to go here but he will be happy wherever.

LMAO anyone watching the Lopez brothers interview? These guys are pretty funny.

Robin Lopez: "Brook is far too content with himself, sometimes you can see the cockiness oozing out of like his sweat does during a workout. He brings all kinds of negative energy everywhere he goes."

Brook Lopez: "He said that? He's just jealous because he's not as good as me. Missing shots is negative, he brings more negative energy than anyone on the court cause he can't shoot."

God those dudes are weird lol.

If the Wolves were draftin 5th, i hope wed of picked Lopez, then trade for Robin. Those 2 wouldve been entertaining all season long.

nothing like a brother vs brother fight breaking out on the court in the middle of another 20 win season
