did speights work out for the nets? if so, what was the feed back?

also, have they had any other late first round big in for a workout, such as McGee, or Thompson?

Out of all the big men left, I like Speights the most so he'd be my pick. I like Courtney Lee and Chris Douglas-Roberts, but after taking Gallinari, I couldn't take either at #21

Both Speights and Hickson worked out twice for the Nets. The first time they didn't work out together. The 2nd time they were there the same day but I am not sure if they "worked out" or if they were more like "interviews" with each player.

I personally like both players. Speights reminds me more like a Kurt Thomas type player while Hickson reminds me more like Reggie Evans with an offensive game. Either player is a solid pick here in my opinion. I think Speights could definitely be in the rotation by mid-season while I am not so sure on Hickson. Regardless of that, I think they both have the same amount of upside, it just depends on if they want to be patient and wait on a guy or if they want a guy closer to making an impression. Either way I'd be fine with them. If I had to choose, everyone on this board knows I love Speights.

what impression do you get from the team? which direction have they said they'd like to go?

Honestly, at this point I'm not really sure. A lot of critics lately have been saying Hickson but a lot of them also have Speights going earlier than 21 which is a possibility. I also think it's still 50/50 that they'd trade this pick moreso than trading #10. I think they only move #10 if they're brining in a vet that could be a difference maker or if they're trading up for Love, Mayo, or Beasely. With #21, if they keep it, and if Lopez or Love don't fall to us, my bet is they're gonna go with Hickson because they can wait on him since Lopez and Love can come in and play right away. If they take a small with #10 and keep #21, I think Speights if more NBA-Ready. That isn't a knock on Hickson (NC State is my team in the ACC because I hate the ACC) but I think if he waited a year, he'd be a top 5 pick.

Nah I really think either guy is fine with us. Speights is my guy at 21 if he's there. I've made wild accusations Phoenix is gonna take him at 15. I still think them and Philly at 16 have solid chances at snatching him up. I think everyone would be fine with you putting him at 21 in your mock though.

speights because hes a good big man and the mock draft has us getting gallinari at the 10 so we still need a big man.

i'm gonna have to go with the sleeper pick in Bill walker. I don't think speights is better than Boone, krstic, Williams for him to get any valueable playing time. With Bill Walker we'd have someone who can come off the bench and attack the basket. But i'd be fine with speights either way.

I still like him, but not at 21. Two ACL tears and he was bothered by knee pains during workouts. It would be a huge risk for any team to use a 1st on him. Hopefully, he's available at 40.

I'm fine with Bill Walker at #40. I personally don't like him, but at 40 it's a crap shoot so if the Nets took a chance on him, sure why not. Prove me wrong Mr. Walker. At 21, I'd throw a brick through my TV.

21 is too high for walker, But I know that he's gonna be gone by the time we pick again and I feel his potential is worth the risk.
