last night on the radio station(1140 carmichael dave show) he said that he would like it if we traded martin for the #2 pick and fillers
we might have to throw in our 1st as well
I would defintly do this trade, but only if we didnt trade our 1st round pick with it
we would be much better defensively
heres the line-up:
beno
salmons
artest
beasly
miller
plus our 12th pick and we could draft bpa cuz we already took care of a need with beasly
What do you think about the idea and also the idea of trading martin anywhere

Re: Trading Martin
If it is just K$ then I'd do it, if we had to throw our pick in which we most likely would, then I would still probably do it depending on who was left to pick at #12. I think seeing Beasly go at #2 is correct but I don't think he is going to be as good as most think. Would you rather have Martin and say Arthur or just Beasly. In other words is the difference between Arthur/Speights/Alexander worth Keven Martin, I don't think so, but I have a much lower expectation of Beasly than most.

Re: Trading Martin
I'd trade Martin for Rose--no f'ing way I'd even remotely consider trading him for Beasley. Beasley is a cross between Abdur-Rahim & Zach Randolph. He's a good offensive player that doesn't play a lick of defense AND already has some red flag character issues (both on & off the court).

Beasly will be better than SAR and much better than ZBo, but I agree, I would trade Martin for Rose, but not for Beasly.

Re: Trading Martin
IF Rose was available at 2, first of all Miami wouldn't trad that pick because teaming up Rose and Wade would be a dream for them. Second I wouldn't trade Martin for beasley at this moment simply because the Kings finally get something special and we have to trade him? I don't think so.

Re: Trading Martin
Unless Rose would be there - no.
Still not into a Beasley/Hawes front-court at all... unless you want relatively average and ultimately inconsistent defense (to go along with the versatile offense, of course).
At SF? Okay, but he's more likely to play PF primarily.
The only justifiable fit next to Beasley with a team that is intending to be a contender later on (or soon) is a center that can defend and rebound with significance. Preferably a big that can play both C and PF effectively (which may be too ideal), so you have flexibility on defense in relation to who Beasley guards.
Every star big needs their helper big man next to him on the interior in some form. Beasley won't be that for Hawes defensively, and Hawes won't be enough for Beasley.
Well said.
