J.O traded to Toronto

Wojnarowski is usually spot on.

So what does everyone think of a healthy J.O/Bosh frontcourt?

Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that the Pacers and the Raptors have agreed to a deal that, pending physicals, would send Jermaine O'Neal to Toronto in exchange for T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic and the No. 17 pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

Pretty good. JO needs to concentrate more on defense/rebounding then his offense, though. If he does that, it could be one of the best frontcourts in the league.

well, it would be pretty good, except they are both to some extent jumpshooters, but i think it does improve them.

however, asking JO to stay healthy is a pretty big thing to ask.

it's JO's interior presence that we want so much.

It will improve them but they need a player who can consistently score off the dribble.

True, early reports indicate that he is doing very well and has put in some extra training, keeping himself in great shape. He's still not even 30 years old, a change of teams could inject some new life into his game. And in Toronto he won't be asked to carry a big offensive load, he'll be the second option and can defer to Bosh. Just like Bosh, I'm sure the team will give him breaks during the season to heal injuries, as long as both of them aren't out at the same time, should be good. Even 60-65 games + a healthy J.O come playoff time would be great,

Two injury-prone big men who would much rather shoot weak fadeaway jumpers than play in the low post?

I can dig it. With all that said though I don't mind this trade for Toronto, O'neal won't kill their long-term cap situation so all in all it's a worthy gamble...

From the Indiana side of things adding another pick is nice, but is MeJ Ford the best they could do? I never liked the guy's style of play and once the season hits most Pacers fans will probably agree with me...

That definitely will need to be addressed, the likes of Anthony Parker, Jason Kapono, Carlos Delfino won't cut it out. I'm thinking any combination of the 2 + future picks could be on their way out for a quality wing next month.

I agree with both of those points. O'Neal has always been more of a jump shooter than people realize. TJ Ford's FG% last season is almost the same as O'Neal's best over the last 5 years. During that time, O'Neal has averaged less than 45% shooting as an interior player. Where think he could really make a positive difference for the Raptors is on the defensive side of the floor.

Assuming that this deal goes through, Toronto may will have one of the best frontcourts in the NBA. Bosh/JO. And Indiana will have a more uptempo team with Ford/Granger/Dunleavy/Foster. If Ford is the Pacers PG, Im assuming that they will NOT take a PG in the draft tomorrow. And most mocks says that the Pacers will select DJ Augustine. I hope he slips to the Kings. :)

Good trade. Fair trade. TJ Ford will push it for the Pacers who clearly have to play faster. And O'Neal will provide the toughness that the Toronto front line lacks. Like I said...good, fair NBA trade.

Yes because we can logically go back and keep Mcgrady and go through all the same situations, still finish out of the playoffs for five years in order to draft Bosh and Bargnani and Villaneuva and do every other move. Completely logical to see that, that roster could have been.

TJ is going to run wild with the Pacers. Watch out Indiana, there's a rabid midget on the loose!!

A healthy J.O>Lewis, Calderon and Turk are close. Toronto isn't a finished product like Orlando though, we still have room to make more moves and change. A wing player still needs to be acquired.

Hopefully TJ adjusts his attitude, I always liked him as a player, but I thought he'd be a pass first PG. Instead, he was a reckless chucker that tried to do too much on his own with better options on the court.

Rasho... LETS NBA!

The ironic thing about that video isn't just Rasho swearing, but TJ Ford complaining about not being able to wear sneakers.
