Jermiane in only 29 years old, he still has a good 3 years of his all star form left(offensively at least). He has fully recovered from his injury, I wouldnt expect BC to agree to this trade if this wasnt true. I view JO as an 8 year vet instead of a 12 year vet since he barely played during his Portland years...

We'll have to see. JO's game has been deteriorating at a steady rate. He needs to bounce back to his level of 2-3 years ago to meet the expectations you have.

I've lowered mine somewhat.

But don't you think that his weaker performances over the past 2-3 years is almost entirely the product of the injury to his knee? I find it hard to believe that, injuries aside, a guy can decline when he is 27, 28 and 29.

He said that after next year O'Neal would be an expiring. With 2 years left on his contract right now, after this upcoming season he would be an expiring heading into 09/10.

Ya, i take it back. I misread it :P

It's a big move. A big risk. Hopefully it works out. No question O'Neal brings a lot of the things the Raptors lack and will finally give Bosh a real front-court compliment.

I just hope he can stay healthy, which is a big if. On the plus side O'Neal is still relatively young and has playoff experience.

Bosh-O'Neal-Bargnani would be quite a nice front court trio if Bargs really is committed to getting better. Now the Raps just need a better swingman.

Ditto, I want to see Bargs shipped out with some other pieces if need be for a top 11 pick... because Alexander will be gone by number 12.

I want 77 games, 19 points (because Bosh will still be the leading scorer at 22-23 a game) 11 rpg (what we NEED badly), 1.5 bpg, and a good 37-39 minutes a game.

I'd want at least 16-10-2 from him, but if he can push to 20-10-2.5 than i'm all for it. Get er Done O'Neal.

Almost positive this isn't going to happen. He isn't going to get the number of shots he took in Indiana, and that might not be a bad thing considering his offensive efficiency.

Here is my bet:
14.5/8.5/1.5 on 47% shooting (from a smaller workload) in 33 minutes a game. With good defense.

Bryan will also have to GET IT THROUGH SAM'S HEAD that he can't ride Jermaine like he rode Bosh this past season. His body will simply break down.

Most importantly, does Andrea take back # 11 and give JO #7?

just read the pacer board, most think JO will have a great and healthy season and said his defense looked really good but his offense was a bit off (which is expected) after coming back from injury.

This is what I felt about this as well. It seems that Colangelo panics and would like to get rid of Ford for anything because everyone knows of his intention to keep Calderon. I personally think he took this deal and it was the first one that came along. I would rather have that Ford + Joey for Rip rumour to have more substance as its way better than JO. Well anyways if its true, lets hope JO pans out.

16 and 8 in 32 min with 2 blks. But what we need from him is attitude/moxy.
