nbadraft.net mock...

Post#1 » by jeffjtk1234 » Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:20 pm

has us taking hibbert at 12!?!?! I know the kings liked hibbert last year. Maybe the kings might take a chance on him. He seems as the most nba ready big in the draft after brooke lopez.

looks like they just changed it, but they did earlier and chad ford seems to think hibbert is a dark horse for us on his mock.

Ford also had us taking Mario Chalmers...

He is just trying to get a little bit attention. Hopefully we don't get Hibbert, I would be sick..

Chad Ford is just a professional message board poster with his wild claims and speculation, trying to get attention, and looking for the reward of being right off the unqiue view-point.

This is what I do know...

No mock knows what the Kings are looking to do. I had a vision of the 4th pick before based on my psychic ability (that's a joke) and to be honest it's right up there with us taking Eric Gordon (RealGM Mock), or the Pacers passing on Augustine and him falling to us.

One thing's for sure. Nobody thinks Arthur is a lottery pick at this point.

^ Same thing with Speights.

I think Arthur's probably being underrated a bit.

Hibbert was not that impressive in college! He has peaked!

Hibbert will absolutly get destroyed in the NBA, people will go right around him and he can only play for like 10 minutes before he gets winded.

JUST SAY NO GEOFF!

I think Darrell Arthur will ultimately be our pick, but if Eric Gordon slips to #12, I think Geoff just may as well take him as the BPA on the board and I think this has some STRONG potential to happen.

As my current future is looking like it's going into sports journalism, being a draft writer would be an awesome job... and i bet any of us could do a fair better job then half that ESPN writing staff. They spew every little tidbit they heard and claim it as near fact, as evident by their "predictions" on their mocks, but sometimes they just need to sit and thing.

Are we really THAT desperate for a PG that we'll take Chambers over Jordan, Arthur, Anthony? Do we really love Hibbert THAT much?

nbadraft.net has historically been pretty far off with their mocks--almost as far off as they are with their player comparisons.

When push comes to shove tomorrow night I think Geoff is going to be debating between Darrell Arthur and Eric Gordon at #12.

I'm not going to expect Gordon to get all the way to 12 with his skill and value...

well if we got gordon id be so stoked. Hes like ben gordon. Hed be very nice as a king i think id finnally pay to go see a game if the got him. It could put us in the position to make some deals. Gordon could come off the bench and fill a ben gordon role for our team. Id like that very much. Also, we could put out a lineup of martin, salmons, gordon, etc and have salmons run the point.

Uh, I changed my stance now that Indy just dealt O'Neal. I can't see Gordon lasting past 11 at this point if he's available. They need a 2 guard pretty bad now that and a 4, so unless they LOVE Arthur/Randolph, I see Gordon going 11 or sooner.

That means we very well may be able to pick between Arthur and Augustin....which means, knowing Geoff, he'll probably take Augustin.

Here is my possible scenario:

If Augustine is available, I think I would select him at #12. Maybe this opens to a trade from Portand?

#12 (Rights of DJ Augustine)

FOR

#13 (Probably Arthur, Jordan, or etc)
#27 (Chalmers, Ibaka, Hickson, Walker or etc)

That would be very good for the Kings IMO.

I'm just not into Augustin as a long-term point guard

I think that just means that we need better agents.
