From Doug Smith's blog:
"Neither side is talking, of course, because nothing can be finalized until T.J.'s base-year compensation tag comes off the books on July 1. For that reason, Toronto will make the 17th selection in tonight's draft based on what the Pacers tell them to do."

What's preventing the Pacers from telling us to draft some one then backing out of the deal before July 1st?

Jose (34) / Roko (14) / Vet 3rd PG
JR Smith (28) / Kapono (16) / Lee or CDR (4)
Artest (34) / Kapono (4) / Lee or CDR (10)

Jose 8 mill
Roko - 1.5 mill
JR - 6 mill
Kapono - 6 mill
Lee or CDR - 1 mill
Artest - 7.5 mill
Bosh - 14.5 mill
Bargs - 6 mill
Oneal - 21 mill
Kurt Thomas - Vet min
Hump 3 mill

You know who should be our 3pg vet back up?

He wanted to be here, he ALMOST signed here. He still has no ring after a failed attempt this year.

DAMON STOUDAMIRE. If he's gonna win a ring, do it here, in Toronto.

I like Damon. But if he wants PT, then this is not the place or team for him. Also, if he just wants to come in, be a good lockerroom guy and fill in whenever needed, sure, I don't mind. BUT one thing I am concerned about is Damon's jailblazer's days where he was caught with pot/drug possession and all, I hope he is clean and doesn't come to affect team chemistry.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
I'm hoping that we either get Shawne Williams back or we keep the pick and maybe send Parker as a filler.

I still want to get a wing player.

You have to trust the other team, if a GM were to screw someone over, they would be blackballed

not sure thats really true

rasho is more of an interior scorer than oneal. Oneal is all about the jumper. And he doesn't have a particularily great one looking at his shooting %

anyone have indepth offensive stats for him? like ts% and all that?

JO /Hump
Bosh/Bargs
Kapono/Moon
Parker/Delfino
Jose/...

*Moon comes off the bench to help Bargs rebound. The starters dont need him anymore. Kapono drops it like its hot as a starter. You know he can get 12+ppg on good shooting.

+ Garbo will be missed.

You forgot one important element. He loves this city. He'll be happy, and also, him and O'Neal were former teammates and Friends. Don't underestimate Stoudamires influence on O'Neal. He'd sell the city on him well.

Man, I want to get excited about this trade but I'm not trying to go crazy. I'm not 100% sold on J.O but I am excited at the prospect of what he can become.

If he can be useful that'll help but I think people are going crazy a bit simply because we still haven't addressed the lack of wing scoring. I am optimistic though.

Goodluck to TJ, he is absolutely one of my favorite people in this league and I expect nothing short of great things from him. Good to see he gets Rasho with him which is his guy after CB on this team. He's going to a stituation that he can really excel in. He'll have runners like Granger and Dunleavy, shooters in Murphy, Rush and scorers. They won't be a great team but they'll compete every night.

Goodluck to Rasho, another guy I love. He'll be fantastic, work hard and teach those young guys what it takes to win.

I'm excited at what this team can be but I'm also cautious simply because I'm not sold on O'Neal though he is an improvement. People talking about competing with the likes of Boston-Orlando-Detroit are really the reason that mid-season everyone jumps off a bridge for "underachieving". We are not competing with those 3 and we'll barely hang with the LeBron's

Raptors and pacers have done it before member Jonathan bender?

Anyways I think its funny how far o'neal has dropped 2 years ago some wouldn't trade o'neal for garnett,

Andrea Bargnani 08-09 stats - 7 points 2 boards on 39% shooting
Jose CONderon 08-09 stats - won't be as good as TJ 5 star General Ford

This is very surreal.

I can't tell you what it felt like to acquire TJ Ford in the first place. AAR3D and I were hyping him up in the Bosh draft year over and over again. I followed him in Milwaukee and was a fan. When he finally arrived in Toronto I was going crazy. Never had I wanted a player, made fake trades for a player and actually had it happen.... Ever.

We've went over the pros and cons of this deal a millions times already but I'm cautiously optimistic heading forward because I know how dominant O'neal can be when he's on and the word is that he's finally healthy.

This is very surreal.

I like the fact we are opening up spots on our roster. Maybe we can add John Lucas and Hassan Adams from our free agent camp and maybe some vets at the league minimum.
Brezec = Euro Oakley
