I think he'll probably end up signing with us for the MLE but we'll def keep Odom.

Lamar will be the 6th man and lead the bench, imagine that wow ****in amazing.

Not to mention Lamar and Artest and Kobe and Artest are all best of friends with each other, Lamar is Artest's idol and hero and his hero growing up. So Lamar will definitely remain on the team and there's no doubt in my mind Kobe and Lamar will be able to convince Artest to come to LA just *like that*.

D-Fish
Kobe
Artest
Gasol
Bynum

Lamar as the 6th man, and leading Sasha/Farmar/Ronny/Luke/Vlad off the bench. Oh god, that's ****in crazy!!!

I don't think though we'll end up getting someone like Baron Davis though for Lamar. :( Wish we could but I don't think we will because I don't think the Lakers will wanna trade Lamar or the other team would do that but MAINLY because Artest would WANT Lamar here. We would HAVE to have Lamar here on the team to get Ron Artest, that's a given.

listening to his interview with loose cannons...it seems he wants odom to stay...so imagine odom being a 6 man.

got this on sac bee...on june 25

Artest's agent, meanwhile, continued to indicate that his client's future in Sacramento will last at least one more season. Asked if the recent speculation about Artest opting out to join the Lakers or any other championship-caliber team for the midlevel could change his mind in these final stages, Stevens said it wasn't likely.

"I don't think it would be a wise decision to (opt out)," he said. "I don't think it will happen. There's been a lot of stuff on TV about Ron, but we're not listening to any of that."

bynum, kobe and artest would be a scary defensive team. Then we move odom to the bench with farmar and sasha. man that team could go down as an all time great team.

Even if this is true, which I hope it is. Don't jump the gun. It also states that Dallas and Spurs are also reported to be interested. You know Mark Cuban. He will throw some nice cash Ron's way. Not a bad line up for either 2 teams:

Spurs: Parker, Manu, Artest, Duncan & Oberto
Dallas: Kidd, Artest, Howard, Dirk & Dampier

4 pretty nice players on either squad:

But still hope if true he comes to LA............imagine if what Mitch has said in previous statements about L.O. playing some Guard............LO @ PG, Kobe @ SG, Ron @ SF, Pau @ PF, and Bynumite @ C or no matter what the position all 5 on court at same time..........wow would be very exciting!!!! Hope it happens.

What about Odom and Farmar for Billups or Jose Calderon?

Billups or Calderon
Kobe
Artest
Gasol
Bynum

Why would you propose a trade of Odom..........especially when they just stated earlier what Artest has been saying all along that Odom, Artest & Bryant are friends. Odom would need to stay in order for Artest to come to LA cuz they are friends. Would be wrong for Artest to come aboard (if report is true that he is opting out) and then ship Odom out................... Dont see that happening if Artest does come.

this report is BS. John ireland in his radio show interviewed ron artest yesterday and john asked him if he were willing to opt out would he sign with the lakers for the MLE and he said he would never do that he said "not in a million years"

I think this new system doesnt show the BOLD part well. I bolded the reference about Cuban being able to pay him some good cash.

To my reply --- hows that?

Unless the grizzlies or sixers are planning on dropping a bucket of cash in his laps with their cap space.. then Cuban has no leverage over any other team in regards to contracts.

There's no reason to believe this until there's something more official. Artest himself knows he's worth more than the MLE, and it would be out of character for most NBA players to opt out knowing they can only sign a lesser deal. The only way he wouldn't need to take a pay cut is if he signs with the Spurs assuming they use all of their 8 mil cap space.
