Proposed trade, from Heat fan.

Post#1 » by CoolD » Tue Jun 24, 2008 7:56 pm

What about if the Heat offers, the second pick(Beasley), Shawn Marion, and Mark Blount.

For Brand, Kaman, and 7th pick.(Westbrook)

How do you Clipper fans feel about this proposed trade.

Terrible. Just Terrible.

#2 + Marion is pretty fair value for Brand + #7. But we don't even like that trade.

And then you ask for Kaman?

No thank you.

Pretty much what Clipper Eric said. You want us to trade one of the best front court combos in the league for that? I'll pass.

Whatever, if you think that is bad deal.

Just wait till Brand comes to Miami after his contract is done, and you guys get nothing in return.

Kaman is a serviceable Center, but you sure are overrating the guy.

You would be crazy to think a Heat fan, would give the number two pick and Marion, for Brand and the 7th only.

Kaman comes in the deal.

If you take out Marion and Brand from the deal, you have Blount and #2 for Kaman and #7. It is likely that both Brand and Marion will be UFA after this season, if EB doesn't opt out prior to July 1. This isn't good enough trade value and it doesn't solve the Clippers problems at the guard position. I'd wouldn't expect either Brand or Marion to be with the Clippers in the long term.

If Kaman were to be moved, I rather see it being done in a package for someone like Arenas and the Clippers keeping the #7, using it on a guard or Brook Lopez if he is still available.

Waka waka at all this Brand to Miami crap. Wait a year. Then tell me he goes to Miami with an improved Clippers team, and more importantly, a bunch of other teams with cap space other than Miami vying for his services. Miami fans are almost as bad as Toronto fans. Nah, they're worse.

Take Marion out. We don't want him. It should be Brand for Haslem, Blount, and the #2. We'll throw in a future 1st.

All I have to say is...you're out of your mind if you're asking for both Brand and Kaman. How about you trade us D. Wade for Tim Thomas, Cat Mobley and Josh Powell?

Maggette can't be included if he opts out, but it's a no either way.

How about we give you Tim Thomas and #7 for D-Wade and the #2. Sounds like a fair deal to me! :D

^ That's what I'm talkin' about illa, now you're thinkin' like a Heat fan! ;)

Seriously Miami...either you're seriously underrating our players or overrating your own. I assume that you probably think the same about us, but seriously? These trade scenarios are a bit crazy.

Elton Brand, at 29, has more value than the #2 pick?

Elton Brand at 20/10 is more of a sure thing than a #2 pick who is potentially capable of 20/10 and hasn't proven anything yet.

But then again, why would Heat fans want to do this deal if Beasley is worth more than Brand at age 29? :o

It's kind of like when somebody wants to trade you an "amazing" item for something of lesser value; if it's so great why are you trading it in the first place?

I think the right deal is #2 plus filler for Brand, straight up. No need to include Kaman or the 7th pick. If you guys are moving Brand, it's going to be to try and rebuild.

For Miami, the goal is a Brand/Marion/Wade trio. If we're trading Marion, we're defeating the purpose of acquiring Brand...
