So perhaps something good will come of this thread after all.
Honestly, what is the point of saying "I know something, but I can't say what it is" on an internet message board? What satisfaction do people get from it. If you know you can't share any details, why not just keep the fact that you heard something to yourself? It always ends in people acting annoyed that others here ask for more (any) information of substance.
GAD, God love him, used to do this all the time. Still don't get it.

Interesting. Thanks for the link emuney. I'd be very happy with Joe.

it lets you know something is going to happen. I know you dont like it but equally there are many who like to expect things.

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
It doesn't necessarily bother me. I don't get it. I assume the Bucks are talking to teams about trades, and that a trade may go down on draft night. If that shocks anyone, I'm sorry.
I do know one thing. If this info was super sensitive, I'm not posting "Kirk Hinrich" on a public forum. From there, the step to posting Hinrich for CV, Mason, and 8 is pretty small.

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
To put it plainly I'd rather have Joe Alexander/Mason/CV (or what we trade him for) than just Kirk Hinrich on the Bucks next year.
There's no way we take on his contract, give up our pick, expiring and young rookie who possibly fetch a better deal by himself.
I like Hinrich as a player, but the only way I'd feel ok about this deal would be if they want the pick, then they take either Gadz or Simmons. If they want CV, I'd probably want CV/Simmons for Kirk/Tyrus Thomas if that works.
I don't see Hammond giving away the whole bag of apples, our pick, our expiring (Mason) and CV for just Hinrich. That would be a horrible way to start the Hammond era.
If you want to avoid spreading a rumor, avoid emailing it and posting it on internet message boards.

Gardner's got us taking Alexander as does basically everyone...
One of the guys at Pro Basketball News thinks we'll take Bayless after he slips. Couldn't find any other new mocks that have us taking someone other than Alexander.

Does the possible trade have legs? Are both teams in talks in getting this done?

Jesus, enough is enough. He's admitted he made a mistake posting it, he's not going to do it again. Can you guys really read his mind enough to know that he was purely attention seeking? Maybe he just wanted to give us the head's up and got a little ahead of himself. We can be pretty relentless around here, but give the guy a break. Enough with the finger waving.

There's probably nothing in the world Tyrus Thomas would like more than a few more seasons with his beloved Scott Skiles.

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
I know that i'm in the minority with this, but i prefer not knowing what will happen in most cases. Unless there is truth to this Hinrich stuff, tomorrow will be very exciting because despite the countless rumors out there, i don't really know what to expect.
That part of the excitement of any draft or trades you didn't know about ahead of time, being surprised by something you didn't expect.
If say i knew for sure since Monday what exactly the Bucks will do tomorrow night, it would take a lot of the fun out of watching the draft and seeing what actually happened.

Well first, he got behind watching the playoffs (which i explained at the time), he also had some other time consuming issues to deal with and still is, and now he reads but doesnt post. It seems hes just waiting for some spectacular post to make his grand re-entrance.

If Minny goes Love, any chance Seattle would be interested in CV/#8? They could get one of Lopez/Bayless/Westbrook there, and we could pick up Mayo... Then I'd try and trade back into the lottery (maybe moving Redd in that oft proposed deal with the Clippers) to get Alexander. I'd really like a lineup of Mo/Mayo/Alexander/Yi/Bogut.
Scott Skiles on being compared by reporters to Hall of Fame coach Pat Riley: "If I thought you guys knew anything, I'd be flattered."

Re: 06/19 ESPN & DX.com Speculation
wichmae, as someone who has had first-hand experience with how to present information to people and what information can be acquired but not presented I hope you'll allow me to give you some unsolicited advice.
I think the mistake you made was posting anything at all. I understand that you acquired some information and you badly wanted to share something with those of us here. Nothing wrong with that. But if you were being told you couldn't spill any details, the best move to make was to remain silent. By presenting the info even in vague details you opened a Pandora's Box and that's pretty much when everything went crazy.
It's a fine line trying to figure out at times what information can be revealed and what information needs to be withheld. One of the strongest means of acquiring information is by proving to your sources that you will not betray a confidence. When you show them what is said to you stays with you, then they will begin providing more information, some of which can be given in its entirety. I know how tough it is to know something for a fact and see something being posted that you can easily refute but cannot because you've been asked to keep it silent. That can be frustrating as hell, but that's really the best policy to take in my opinion.
As far as anyone getting into trouble, I think things will smooth over as time goes on. Don't forget, it was just a couple of months ago that people in the Bucks' front office were on a mission to find out who I really was because of the info I was posting here. All of that blew over. In time, this will blow over as well. If your sources know that you've been reliable in the past, they'll regain their trust in you. It may take some time but it will happen.
I hope you don't mind the unsolicited advice. Feel free to tell me to take my advice and stick it if you so desire.

On the topic of Joe Alexander; in a video interview with Kevin Love (link), when asked which draftee he wouldn't like to play in a one on one match, this was his reply:
Even Kevin Love is on the Alexander bandwagon. Let the Alexander man-love continue!
Joe Alexander, he's very fast, very explosive, but also you can't let up against him at all... he's just 110% all the time, he's a Bob Huggins style of player... and any team that's going to draft him is going to be very happy".
Even Kevin Love is on the Alexander bandwagon. Let the Alexander man-love continue!
