Post#1 » by OrlandoMagic » Wed Jun 25, 2008 5:16 pm

Seeing if anybody wants to get a group together for the draft tomorrow? Im living close to Universal Studios theres a few Wing Places on Kirkman Rd and Fridays FrontRow on I-Drive. Anyone interested? If so list the area where you live and whats close by to watch the draft at. Maybe we can all meet in a central location?

The Magic are having one at NBA City, I won't be able to make it, but I know the organization will have a lot out.

They have one at NBA City @ Citywalk every year they have a draft pick. I was there in '04 when the Magic selected Dwight. The draft was on my birthday, but I was upset because I was a T-Mac & Okafor fan... MMFMTMFMFM (sorry gotta take my foot outta my mouth)... They had Stuff there, and the Magic Dancers, and the radio team was broadcasting from there as well.. It's a cool atmosphere considering the theme and the TV's everywhere. If you don't gather a big group of people at another place, consider this as a good alternative.

How did the crowd react when the Magic selected Dwight?

I was watching the draft with my buddy, and I remember both of us being split between Howard and Okafor for varying reasons. I thought Okafor would make an immediate impact, while Howard would be better in the long run (which appears to be correct).

I doubt many of us expected him to become one of the top dominate players in the league though...at least, not this quickly.

I'd say the reaction was 50/50... I was upset with the pick. I thought Okafor woulda been the big man that T-Mac woulda wanted to play with... Oops...
