Me and HoopsGuru actually agree on something.

I like Josh Smith and he is fun to watch but I think Tayshaun would be a better fit for our team. The blocks are fun and exciting but overall Prince is a better defender in my opinion. Also, while I enjoy Smith's highlight reel dunks as much as the next guy I think it would be better to get a guy like Prince who can actually step out and hit a shot when Joe gets double teamed. I am tired of watching Josh airball possessions away. It seems like Josh Smith wants to be the go to guy on our team and have the offense run through him, which could be why he clashes with Woodson. Smith simply doesn't have the ball skills for this to happen and hopefully he will realize that with maturity.

I think our team would actually improve if we traded Smith for Tayshaun straight up... if we could get more that'd be great too... opinions?

Smith for Prince straight up? Seriously? Prince is a fine player, but he's a fine role player. Smith is an impact player.

What is this board's fascination with Tayshaun Prince? This guy is one of the most overrated players in the league. For starters he is a 3 while Smith is a 4 and he averages 14 ppg. He routinely plays like ***** whenever the Pistons get eliminated in the playoffs as well. He's also already 28(he wasn't even in the NBA at Smith's age!). Stop pretending like this guy is the missing piece to the Hawks winning the championship or even getting to championship contention. Take any of the top 4 Pistons players(outside of Billups)on a mediocre team and there value goes WAY down.

I would like to get more... and i agree Smith has a higher value than Prince around the league but I think Prince would make us a better team with the group of players we have... if we were to get Prince and Maxiell I would positively do it

I don't know about that. Rip Hamilton is a stud. I could see Sheed and Prince putting up better numbers on different teams. Sheed especially. Billups is the one I'd say is the most likely to take a hit on another time.

Sheed has gotten extremely overrated due to playing with the Pistons. He hasn't gotten the heat he deserves for being such an underachiever. He could be doing everything that KG does but doesn't even come close. He's a very lazy player that mails in games on the regular(even in the playoffs sometimes). His attitude has overshadowed the fact that he doesn't rebound or play in the post(where he's really good) that often.

Hamilton is pretty good. He is a very awkward player that doesn't really score in isolation or put the ball on the floor that much. He would be a good player regardless of where he goes but his scoring efficiency would go down if he had to face more defensive attention like Marion's did in Miami.

Sheed is still a great leader but he is clearly declining on the court.

Prince for Smith doesn't do a whole lot for the Hawks since they would need to get a PF or a C. I don't see anyone on the Pistons being that great to fill that role (yes even Sheed who is declining and is still a lsoe cannon).

I agree in the sense that Detroit has made fame and popularity a lot easier for Sheed. He can make the All Star team averaging 15/7 or whatever. But at the same time I think he could easily put up better numbers on a different team without really changing his game. If he changed his game and played to his strengths he would even better. Not likely, though.

You wouldn't nor would you need to as the Pistons would be quite happy without the picks.
McDyess no longer has much market at all and Bibby-Billups are pretty much a wash as both are getting older and are big $. Prince is nice but trading Josh Smith for Prince to help the D makes no sense. I think Marvin's always been overrated but he did make nice progress and has started to "get it"....and in this the Hawks really are just tossing him in.
CENSORED... No comment.
