Tony Parker will be on the cover for the U.S. and majority of the world.
EA Sports announced Wednesday that San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will grace the cover of the NBA Live 09 video game.
While I'm not sure if there's a curse involved with this game line, Parker won't be alone as three other players will appear on the cover -- but only in their home countries. (Rare collector's items, perhaps?)
They are Toronto's Andrea Bustnani (Italy), the Los Angeles Lakers' Pau Gasol (Spain) and Chicago's Luol Deng (United Kingdom).
The 26-year-old three-time NBA champ won the EA Sports All-Star Challenge video game competition at the NBA All-Star Game in February and is the first European-born player to appear on the cover.
New to the game this year are 24 FIBA teams and includes a FIBA world championship mode (click on the image at left for a closer look).
The game will be available on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable on Oct. 7 in the United States and on Oct. 14 worldwide.
