Post#1 » by aSizzLe » Thu Jun 26, 2008 5:37 pm

is he the type of player that needs a big body next to him to be most effective? like KG with Perkins?

kind of vague, but i cant think of a better way to word it. >_>

Not really, like KG, he needs a coach to constantly post him up, otherwise he'll drift for the most part(more so actually). These guys all need a Greg Pop, I really liked his line about Timmy wanting to shoot more jumpers, and he told him flat out, no :D

He's 6'11, 265 plus, and he's got wonderful skills on the block, when he's used there.

I think it would help him more because that big body could guard the big centers which would probably keep him away from injury but Bosh is a great player, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Sort of. He's a jumpshooter like KG so offensively it'd be nice to have a guy that just focuses on getting the rebounds.

He's defentily an elite help defender like KG, but he has enough mass to hold his own in the post one on one so he won't get punished for guarding Centers like KG would.

I'd say he's the very less offensively talented, less mobile, more mass* version of KG.

*= mass is a good thing to have. The diffrence between KG and Duncan is Duncan has 40 more pounds so he has a Centers body while KG has a PFs.

I think it will be diffrent type of teams but J'o would do just as well with a Center next to him or a PF next to him.

He's been accused of being soft, that for sure. And Bosh hasnt ever been known as a tough guy either. I really think they need to being some toughness onto their front line now (and no, Bargnani is not that guy). Somebody like Reggie Evans.

Bosh in the playoffs showed that he can draw fouls very consistently and he's a reliable rebounder. I think the soft frontcourt players are only looked down upon because they don't draw fouls.

J'Oneal and Bosh are going to be real fun to watch play together. I hope they get a lot of national coverage. It's going to be a fun team.

And one thing I noticed on NBA.com I think they put it perfectly between the two. KG is listed as a Foward [sf/pf] J'Oneal is listed as a Power Foward/Center. That's the diffrence between the two.

As for his weight there seems to be a lot of discrepency. In this thread we see 260 pounds+. ESPN NBA say 260, Hoopshye says 240, RealGM says 226.

Does any other player get listed with such a wide range on their reported weight!?!?!
