The three things that Chalmers has going for him are his ability to hit an open three , his effort on defense and the fact Kansas won a Championship.
However he just has too many weaknesses IMO to warrant being drafted any higher than late in the 1st round or early 2nd.
I'm just not a fan of PGs that CAN'T get to the basket or finish when they do get there. I believe a PG should be able to create shots for himself and others. Chalmers can't do that. I believe PGs should excel at ballhandling, Chalmers is only adequate. He's not a great athlete either. I like his defensive effort, but I question whether he'll be effective guarding NBA level talent at his position. He's got an okay shot, but how many open looks would he get for a team without a low post threat or against any team that doesn't employ Eddie Jordan like strategies on D?
