Milovan Rakovi?

Post#1 » by DontPushMe » Thu Jun 26, 2008 5:28 pm

I think now is the time to ask about our 2007 draft pick. How many of you had honestly forgotten that this guy even existed? I know back when this pick was made, most of us agreed that it was the right idea, take a foreign guy and leave him over there for a while, but no one understood the player. I still remember the call on tv from last year when the pick was made, something like, "now he will go back to europe where he will likely never be heard from again." Couldnt of been more true.

Here are his stats, if anyone cares

I feel Rakovic could actually into a player who can do the dirty work and be a big body inside.

Be nice to see him in summer league this year.

With Augustine and Battie gone, unless Vazquez comes state side, there is a roster slot for a big body.

Battie is not gone. Unless you mean the following season, not this one.

So does this make my Foyle jersey worth more since it will be a very rare item to find in a yr or 2?

The Serbian national team coach just recently announced a list of 20 or so names of players that will be candidates in the coming period, and he's nowhere to be seen on it. And considering some of the names on that list, that's a pretty bad sign.

I naturally follow Serbian basketball and have heard no noise whatsoever about him. I still maintain picking him was done largely as a favor to Marc Cornstein...

This is in itself a defense to bring the guy over to the Summer league. Then everyone knows what is on the table.

LOL... Oh, well, it was worth a try. The draft obviously occurred before all that stuff with Darko and the war of words with Cornstein went down. I still think it was stupid for him to go off on the team that holds the rights of two of your other clients.

Pretty sure he did not LOL.

Did some research that might give you guys an idea...

He played at C behind Rafael Araujo, former Raptor lottery pick. Araujo played about 22 mpg and did 11.9 ppg and 7.8 rpg and Rakovic in 18mpg did 8.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg.
