If he leaves, we still need other things in this draft then SFs. We still have two great SFs - Salmons and Garcia.

Agreed. I'm feeling good that we could walk away with either DJ or Randolph. I just hope we don't walk away with Hibbert at 12

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
I think we should really work to put together an offer to move up to 10 if Bayless is available. We have to try to outbid Portland there. I'd offer anything but Martin and Spencer for the pick. Maybe something like....
Shelden/Douby/Cisco/#13 pick for Simmons/#10 pick.
If it means getting Bayless, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
The Spurs are OPENLY selling their pick...we need to trade our 2 2nd round picks for their 26th! This will allow them to pick a few "Manu" type players in the 2nd round in an attempt to go younger. Meanwhile, we can go for a good late PF like Jason Thompson with the 26th pick (although he MIGHT be picked by the Warriors with their 14th pick).

If we could get the #26th pick with our 2 2nd round picks, we could package #12+#26 for the +10th pick, IMO.
EDIT: I wouldn't give up Shelden AND Cisco/Douby to move up 2 spots in the draft either.

We won't be able to. Minnesota can offer the #31 and #34 pick and Portland can offer #33 and #36.

True, unless Portland and Minnesota want to hang on to their picks?

Possible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Portland should be looking to consolidate guaranteed picks and not add new ones, they are already over the limit roster wise.

According to Chad Ford we are going to get Bayless anyway:

That'd be great, but I'm not expecting that at all... I think Chad's trying to get attention again. Bayless all the way to 12 with his talent and value? I don't buy it until we actually select him.
Just to say, Bayless/Kevin would be such a sweet back-court, and I really like Bayless' defensive potential.

I wouldn't be THAT surprised that Bayless is within reach for our #12. He would be arguably the steal of the entire draft if GP selects him. That's assuming Bayless is still available of course.

For details on the source of that news it was Andy Katz on SportsCenter...

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
How mad would everyone be if we picked someone other than a PG/PF/Hibbert/Alexander (if available)?

I wouldn't be surprise that they will deal again. Assuming that they subtract the "too much" from the deal. IMO.

I wouldn't be mad at all if we picked Randolph... but if it's over Arthur, Bayless if he somehow would be there, Westbrook if he falls, Alexander (to a lesser extent) - then I'd be surprised and disappointed. But ultimately, still intrigued, because Randolph is who we got, and would get over the disappointment.

Re: Players worked out by Kings...Official 2008 Draft Thread
I think another point that needs to be made is that Alexander would now become an excellent fit for NJ at 10 given the whole left by RJ. And there is no way the guy is going to be sitting there at 13, so I think there is still a real legitimate chance that Portland wont be able to target the 10th to take Bayless/Augustine in the event they slide to that spot. As much as I really had my sights set on a PF at 12, I would be happy with DJ and estatic with Bayless. Man this thing needs to start already!
