I didn't try convincing. I corrected people who were wrong on certain things. RJ's position and medical history, Marcus's situation, and Denver's only possible reasoning I could think of the possibility of that trade, which was finances. Everyone in that thread was also responding to those articles I posted along with the same rumors.

I also said before, even in this thread, it wouldn't be based on talent for talent, but more of a financial relief for Denver.

I'm also wondering what it means for Krstic. I don't think it's a given he'll resign, if he gets a more lucrative offer in Europe -- which I think is certainly possible given current currency and economic conditions. Plus the transitional state of the Nets team. I can't know how strong his relationship is with management, teammates and his agent, which will all come into it.

Krstic's developed more into a Center then a PF don't think this means anything for Nenad . Yi , Boone and SWill are 2 offensive and 2 defensive minded players . One of each category is PF and one Center . Looks fine to me . Doubt we'll pick a big now unless we play to Yi at SF .

Hmm...from a business perspective, this was a good trade for the Nets. Chinese market, cutting costs...

However, from a fan's perspective...it's really hard to see RJ go (I'm more of an RJ fan than VC). Yes, I had stated before that we would be trading our big contracts away to rebuild starting with RJ because of VC's contract. In the end though, any Nets fan had to realize we couldn't go far with this team and with our current financial situation, couldn't build around this team. Still, I'm a bit uneasy about this. Do I think we could've gotten more with RJ? Maybe, but like I said...a team in rebuilding wants two of three here...young talent, expirings, and 1sts. Yes, we finally have direction on what we're going to do, but I'm on the fence on Yi. Call me in six months for an evaluation and another year or two to call this trade great or horrible. Sorry, kind of rambling.

pretty much sums it up...I just see RJ's market value as more...we're banking on potential here...I see Yi's potential/skills...but I also see Wang Zhizhi...again, another possbile trade w. Yi involved or is he really part of our future...

note: my comparison is just that...Yi obviously could have twice or 3 times the career of Zhizhi...

Camby would probably be stealing rebounds from teamates or letting his man take open jumpshooters, but he is not on the Melo-Jefferson swap. There's no Camby on it.

Denver has a lot of problems, I'll give you that. They don't have a pick... but what? We didn't sell it for cash, we will get the pick on another year. Nobody can contribute right away, Karl wouldn't play a rookie, and we're in "Win-Mode" now, so we save the pick for the next year (or the year after, or the year after...) where we maybe will have to rebuild.

Jefferson was grossly overrated on this board... I never thought he was ever a amazing talented player..... dude avg 20 + points this season because Frank geared his offense towards him...

I remember those HORRIBLE RJ shooting nights when he couldn't hit anything.... not even gimme layups/floaters....

Interesting trading...the Bucks like it because they get a very good player, and the Nets will get room for LBJ or someone like that after next season, and the Nets will have a whole season to train all the young guys and decide which ones should be in this team. Not a bad trade for both teams, I can say.

As a Chinese, I hope Yi will improve himself here and have fun.

True but RJ isn't that type of player that can get those three needs back.


Overall, Nets fans, just be happy of what we've got in return. Yi , as i have posted before (i even made a thread about him), will be a stud. I kinda really don't understand on why the Bucks gave him up that easily. It's not really a question of why we just gave up RJ like that (who doesn't rebound a lot or defend better, when we all know he can do better), it's actually why the Bucks gave up Yi this early.
