How tall is danilo gallinari really?

Post#1 » by Knicksfan20 » Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:02 am

When he was drafted...the screen said 6'9
When the analyst were talking about hiim...they said 6'8
We have all been hearing he was 6'10
D'antoni just said he was 6'11

How tall is this guy? Its driving me nuts

if he is 6'10-6'11...i would be happy

6'8-6'9...not so much

I'd rather not play the "Let's see who's Cock is the biggest" game.

He'll be listed at 6-10, but I believe that he is 6-9 without shoes.

Yeah D'Antoni just said he's 6'11". Sure doesn't look like it when compared to when guys like Love and Ibaka was standing next to Stern. But one would hope the Knicks actually took measurements when Gallinari worked out for them and it does seem to make sense with another report from a supposed reliable source that Gallinari is 6'10" without shoes.

He'll prob be listed at 6'10. Either way hes a SF so its doesnt really matter THAT much. Hes tall enough. Lets just hope he has some skills to go along with his height.

This pick honestly intrigues me. I cant say that I love it but Im very interested in how hes gonna turn out. We havent had any European player here in like ever, and hes the best of this years crop so we shall see.

The one thing that doesnt make me shoot myself is that fact that Danilo is supposedly a tough minded kid and a leader who has many intangibles. God knows we can use that on this team, that is full of athletes with sh*t for brains.

He is probably 6'10 in shoes, D'Antoni is probably using his NBA height (add an inch no matter what).

His height is less important then his skills.

His skills place him at the 3.

I don't want the Knicks four hanging out all day behind the three point line, we don't have a rebounding center to cover for it.

Really how many players on this Knicks team are going to be led by a 19 year old Euro who speaks garbled english?

Wow are includning Wilson Chandler on that list? How do you (hig biggest fan) feel now that Gallinari will take his minutes and force him to the bench?

I think Dino and Chandler could be a nice fit--Dino can play the 3 on offense, and he and Chandler can switch on d with Chandler taking the quicker guy.

When they took the group picture he was standing next to B Lopez and he looked about 2 inches smaller.

That sounds dreadful to me, I don' think Gallinari can guard the 3 or the 4. I also think that is playing Chandler out of postion on offense ( I know he played the 4 in college but totally different level).

Overall I bet Chandler get zero burn with Gallinari on the court and ends up a throw in for atrade....

I hope he is a legit 6'10

That would cause some matchup problems if he can shoot

*Prays he is the Italian Lebron*

I just really wish it was easy to get rid of Randolph...this way we can play the young guys

Could we possibly see a lineup of

Marbury
Gallinari
Chandler
Lee
Curry?

that would be a pretty big lineup.....Gallinari seems to have pretty good handles...maybe he can play the 2 in spurts? I dont see Danilo Starting over Chandler...I cant wait for summer league...I hope Chandler plays

Well Gallinari has to guard someone! Seem to me that we should pair him with a Marion-style combo forward who can defend both the 3 and the 4 slots, and put Dino on the weaker offensive player.

I see Chandler as a combo forward in that mold, who can play strong d. The fact that he played the 4 in college is a good thing.

Maybe you don't like the Dino pick at all (not sold on it myself) but it happened so the question is who do we surround him with, especially to cover up for his expected lack of d.

Well we dont know exactly how good or bad his defense is yet. we are just assuming he is a bad defender...because he is a Euro jump shooter.

He could very well be average...or a good defender...we will have to find out..im hoping he isnt too much of a liability
