"The Timberwolves are selecting Chalmers on behalf of the Miami Heat, according to a league source. Pat Riley wanted a point guard, and he got one. In fact, Chalmers is one of the most NBA-ready guards in the draft. He can shoot, he can defend and he's a clutch player. He's kind of a poor man's O.J. Mayo. Great draft night for Miami."

I wish he had said what the Heat are giving up. I hope they just gave cash or something and they still have their other pick (and also didn't offer future picks).

Chalmers is just like a Chris Duhon type player. Except we don't have burn the MLE and cap flexibility. Awesome.

Excellent draft. Riley and Pfund got it done.

Exactly. Miami ended up only moving down three spots from their original draft spot to get someone they were probably looking to get anyway, probably for Indy's 2nd rounder and the cash they got from Philly last year in the D. Cook trade. Very nice.

SG- Wade/ Cook/ Banks
SF- Marion/ Wright/ Beasley
PF- Beasley/ Haslem/ Marion/
C- Blount / Anthony

Still in need of a center but this is a good start.

Prolly Indy's and Philly's next year. Who cares. Awesome. Chalmers hit the biggest shot in the biggest game of the year, on the biggiest stage. He's going to be player. Kinda suprised he slid this far.

Chalmers is great defensively too..and shot 46% from 3.

Hes gonna be a great backup PG for years....
