Jackson is nothing like Wayne. Jackson is a blue-collar type of PF. Only 6'8", but around 240-250 pounds range. Basically very similar to Haslem in many ways. Kid has a HUGE heart! He has been through so much tragedy in his life already. I doubt very likely there will be very many players if any on the Heats team that will out work him.

Though no system is full-proof obviously, this takes into account EVERYTHING including age, measurables, production, and success indicators and projects production in the NBA.

Should note as well it projects him as the 8th best big man in the draft, ahead of Anthony Randolph, Robin Lopez, Jason Thompson, Javale McGee, DJ White, DeAndre Jordan, and others.

That's a tall order! I guess we'll see...

I'm liking chalmers more and more... Katz or one of the ESPN guys said Spoelstra told him before the draft if the heat could get an extra mid to late 1st rounder he would love to get a PG like Chalmers.

I like the guy has good body, and seems like he will fit well with the Heat.

He can shoot the three, likes to play defense, was a winner. Yeah, that Chalmers guy sounds like a good pick.

Fact we have Wade, we don't need the best creator.

Boston got Bill Walker for Cash, but we gave up 2 second round picks in the second round and cash. I suppose those 2 second round picks are worthless anyway. But you're right, we got Chalmers and the best player in the draft in Beasley. I was really hoping for a defensive center too.

LOL, Spoelstra needs to keep his mouth shut next time.

What's the point in telling an ESPN media guy your draft plan?

Chalmers and Beasley was a great draft! Just staying with Beasley was great but we really needed a point and were able to get one that fits nicely with Wade only costing us 1 future 2nd rounder. So i'm very happy with how the night turned out.

Maybe even that guy Darnell Jackson, just look at Boston, they have big body's, that rebound, and do all the dirty work.

If we somehow could get Posey Back, get rid of Blount. We will be a one of the top teams fast.

I was hoping we'd try and make a big time move with either Marion or Haslem as the bait, but I'm very happy with our lone trade for Chalmers and the non trade of Beasley.

This is our best draft ever! That's not an exaggeration I'm happy to say.

Guys, we had a great draft night! Think about it, there was talks of us trading down to even 5, so we could nab a point guard in Kyle Lowery! Yet, we get a pg that most mock drafts had going top 20, and in my opionion is better then Lowery. He is 6-2, which is GREAT size for a pg, can shoot the 3, pass, and hit clutch shots. AND, we still go to keep who I feel was the best player in the draft in Beasley! So, tonight, we got an All-Star foward(within 1-2 years), who is only 19 AND our pg who we desperatley needed..

Now the question is, what do we do with Marion/Haslem? I still think something will go down for us with one or even both.. thoughts?

Got his number

Even before the May 20 draft lottery, Heat fan Sergio Xiques ordered a Kansas State jersey from the internet. He personalized it with a "30", and even added the name "Beasley" with his own silkscreen.

Xiques, like thousands of other fans inside AmericanAirlines Arena, roared when the Heat drafted the forward.

"I was waiting for this to happen," the Miami resident said. "It's going to be a huge difference."

I think with the acquisition of both Beasley and Jackson that Haslem could be shopped around for some more talent. He should be able to return decent value, not the 5th pick as suggested previously.

I'm not sure what to do with Marion. If he stays, he has to take less money. 13 million a season for 3 years is way too much. 10 a year is reasonable and more down to earth than the crazy figures he's used to making. 18 million this coming season is his hit on our cap. Ridiculous.......but, MUCH better than Shaq's old butt.

It's even better when you consider this time yesterday how nervous everyone was that we were going to pass on Beasley or get some role players in a trade.

BEASLEY is the guy I wanted whether we had #1 draft or #2. He will be better than Rose IMO and fits our team. Rose cannot play with Wade. This beast will be a candidate for rookie of the year and an all-star pretty soon. I think he will start at PF for us right away and do great.

Chalmers is the type of G that we need. He has handles, can shoot the 3, can pass and is althletic. He is not gonna demand the ball like Rose or OJ mayo would have, he will just be a great compliment to Wade in the back court. Check out this nasty putback slam by him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdo12h1d ... re=related

Jackson looks like a good player for the bench, seems to have an NBA F body and has championship experience in college. Has a good chance to stick around here.

This draft gets a big A+++++
