A unlikely draft trade scenario

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:42 pm

I doubt this will happen but it does combine TT's history of trading down and the rumored interest in Moss and some RB?

Pack trades down in 1st and picks up xtra 2nd.
Pack trades 2nd to Oakland for Moss and 4th
Pack trades 2nd & Barry to Atlanta for Norwood and 4th.

Draft
1st-cb
2nd (moss trade)
2nd (norwood trade)
3rd-te
4th-s
4th-fb
4th-lb
5th-lt
6th-cb
7th-c
7th-fb
7th-lb

On first day - We get vet help at WR & HB and draft rookie TE - maybe Dan Patrick? all helping offense and top pick to develop at CB.
Then bunch of early 2nd day picks for depth.

Ben Patrick, and I'd certainly be happy with that draft.

I agree, that would be a great draft. The scary thing is that knowing TT, it will probably be something like that. The only thing I don't think would ever happen in all of that is the Moss trade, but you never know I guess.

And if BEN Patrick were still there at start of 3rd round - I'd trade our 3rd and a 4th (since we have 3) and a 7th to move up to front of 3rd round to make sure we get him.

Also I'd include Ferguson to Raiders for no extra charge.

As I'm reading your original post, I'm thinking: "Yeah, right ..."

... and then I remembered what happened last year. I think that draft day 2006 was probably the day the tide turned for me when it came to my impression of TT. He really worked the phones well last year ... especially that trade with New England.

Nothing will surprise me ... unless TT trades up.
