Starters:

Arenas
Stevenson
Butler
Jamison
Haywood

2nd Unit

Daniels/Mason
Young
McGuire/Butler (Sorry Caron, I know you need a rest, but we didn't want Bill Walker and we need someone like you to lead the young guys)
Blatche
Etan/McGee (obviously more Etan since EJ is in charge and McGee is raw)

Holla At You Later: Pech, Songaila (Seriously, we have no use for them. I'd rather see guys like DMAC and Blatche in there, but since EJ is in charge, I'm sure Songaila will be ahead of Blatche in the rotation. At least drafting McGee indicates that Ernie doesn't believe small ball is the answer to our woes.)

he looks comfortable all around the half court on offense, his jumper looks good, he's obviously quite mobile, from all indications he's a good hardworking kid with no personal issues.. and he's 7ft (7',6'' span)

He is talented but my issue with him is that he won't probably won't be productive for at least 3 years I don't think the Wizards can afford to wait they needed some one who could help them now. May be I'm wrong and maybe he will be able to help this season and I would be happy but I don't see that happening.

Exactly. I was at first upset we didn't go Chalmers, and afterwards upset we got zero guard help, then I had the exact same thought. And I kind of agree.

Young has a pretty good handle for a young SG in my opinion. His decision-making is questionable, but not his handle.

Holy crap, I just read that he averages 4 turnovers to 1 assist. Thats even worse than Etan Thomas and maybe even Blatche.

I haven't gone through this whole thread, but the guy is tall and long.

In fact, his standing reach is one inch more than Brendan's. Of all centers in the draftexpress measurement database, Brendan had the fifth highest standing reach. Javale McGee comes in second only to Pavel Podkolzine, who is a terrible athlete.

If any of our young guys is a lost cause it is Pech, certainly not Nick.

2 unrelated thoughts

LAL, with a frontline of Bynum, Gasol and Odom (and Kobe at SG too)
is still probably the longest team in the league. At least when you
consider lineups that are remotely likely to ever be on the court
together. I seriously doubt we'll see Wood and McGee together
for any meaningful period of time. For better or worse, EJ is
the coach.

My first impression from the highlights last night on ESPN is
that Hibbert looked like a slug in comparison to McGee.
I really liked Hibbert but maybe it'll be for the best that we
didn't get him. Time will tell. It's early.

I thought the rule was that you could only have three contracted players in any one game. They can split up the games and each play a few of them if that's the case.

If he sucks, I want the record to reflect that I thought of "JaFail" (or is it pronounced "JaFall"?)

Really? I heard 4. We forgot about VV as well. The weird thing is, Ivan said in his article today that they would all play. Anyone know where these rules are posted?

I think the key factor is that you can have 4 SIGNED as in actually on your roster
players. VV doesn't count. Draft picks don't count before they're signed. IIRC.
And there is also no requirement for a player with more than some minimal
number of years in the league to play if he doesn't want to, even if his team
does.

We need to start thinking of a handle for JaVale McGee. I think he's here to stay. :-)
How about:
JM
JVMG
Java

your ideas?

I'm very high on this kid's potential. But I'm concerned that EJ won't give McGee the room to grow and develop.

We all know how EJ feels about athletic big men.....he hates them.
