Post-Draft Scenario

Post#1 » by Darren » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:26 am

The Mavs can't do anything after the whole night.

Rumors:
...Diop would sign with MLE
...EJ would retire
...Carlisie like DG & AW
...Pops, RAT, and fellow second rounder for rookie free agent if they play well in summer league.
...Mavs interest in McLeod

That leaves the Mavs with the following:

C - Damp - Diop / ??
PF - Dirk - Bass / Pops
SF - JoHo - DG / RAT
SG - JET - AW / Foster
PG - Kidd - McLeod / Seibutis??

If we like shooter that much, we should invite Fazekas to shootout again.

This sickens and depresses me. I am about ready to give up on this thing. With all the deals getting done last night, if our hold up was money or overvaluing our roster then we are in for a horrible next few years.

Carlisle gets so much out of his players. He works with them one on one. This team could surprise especially depending what we do on the FA market. Some teams are overloaded at certain positions such as PG and C and need to alleviate their surplus. The Mavs could sign Diop and K. Lowry and sure up two backup positions...

Donnie is on with Norm. If they were asking what he is claiming; then I understand. He said that early second round picks were going for $2,000,000 and 3 future second rounders.

 @ Cyberstorm3000! Well, anything's possible! I still think we make moves after things have died down. Some of the players on the FA market are going to also lower prices, not raise them. It's an interesting trend that some economist needs to examine. How many days until tip off?

i do remember like 2 or 3 years ago the pacers gave up 3 2nd rounders to get james white in the early 2nd so that could be true, teams like the non guaranteed part in case it doesnt work out

but jesus why the hell couldnt we have just given cash to get bill walker from the wizards 5 picks before us, that was one of the best moves of the night and it couldnt have cost that much money

If there are no trades and the sole move this offseason is going after Diop with teh full MLE that they weren't even willing to use last offseason, someone please stab me.
