Raymond Felton

Post#1 » by LL Cool Scott » Fri Jun 27, 2008 8:04 pm

Pros:
1. He's a promising young player.
2. He would be outstanding in the open court with Joe, Josh, and Al to feed.
3. He won't be too expensive to resign if he works out here.
4. We wouldn't have to give up too much to get him, because Michael Jordan is an atrocious GM. Plus, the Bobcats just drafted his replacement.

Cons:
1. He'll never be an adequate shooter, so all the good looks Joe gets with Bibby out there will dry up quickly.
2. He'd be yet another young player, with a roster already full of them.
3. His defense is only average, considering his quickness and athletic ability.

Felton has been misused in Charlotte. They have been playing him alot of minutes at the 2 for some reason(which I hope they are dumb enough to try again this year) and he sucks when playing off the ball. They got MUCH better when they waived Jeff Mcginnest(the Lo Wright of point guards) and Felton put up some really good numbers. I'm not sure what we would have to give up to get him. I'm thinking that Felton/Morrison and Marvin/Acie is the closest I can get to equal value.

His cons are a bit too high in my opinion, primarily the shooting. I'd rather see what Acie can do and sign Jamont Gordon as a 3rd PG (Combo really) to the minimum than trade for Felton who is on the last year of his rookie deal. Without credible 3 pt shooting at the 3 we need range from the PG position and Felton just doesn't have it.

True, I'd prefer to move for a guy like Mike Miller. Felton certainly has his positives but I think there are better fits. Wouldn't mind Sund poking around just to see the cost though.

Hes a better defender then you are thinking. More of an above average-good defender.

And yes... he has been misused in Cha.

Knicks are suposedly close to getting him...for David Lee (other players are going in...and knicks are suposedly suposed to recieve a pick)

BUt id rather trade Lee with randolph to get rid of him

if the Lee For Felton rumors are true, then it seems like the Hawks could get Felton for Marvin any time they want.

Unless the Lee thing has to do with Larry Brown having him before and really wanting him. Also, the Bobcats have Gerald Wallace at SF. David Lee is a PF. Marvin could be either, but I see him primarily as a SF.

I'll give you that aspect of it. I would probably be more excited by the prospect if Felton was a better shooter from distance or if we had a solid 3 point shooter in the fold to step in for Marvin. As is, Bibby, albeit hot and ice freaking cold as a shooter, fits Woodson's schemes for a PG better than Felton.

David Lee is better than Marvin Williams. Lee puts up double double numbers in less than 30 minutes. His per minute numbers are better than Horford. Why would the Cats what another SF. They have Gerald who plays there Jrich who plays some minutes at the 3. Unless they trade they also have Adam Morrison.
