Name 1 positive and 1 negative from the trade

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Fri Jun 27, 2008 8:41 pm

This is just to cheer us up a little(The fans who wanted Mayo), and just to have a little fun. All we do is name one thing positive and one thing negative about the trade(Don't do more than 1pos 1neg!)

I'll go first:

POSITIVE
1. We have a player who was one of the best at outlet passing, and we need help like that in teh fast break department.

NEGATIVE
2. We lose our "Sexy" pick, and probably won't have national coverage because Love won't put butts in the seats.

POSITIVE - we gain two second round picks next year

NEGATIVE - I actually think Chalmers, even though he's not a pure point, is a better fit for the Wovles as a backup point than Telfair. He's got a little Derek Fisher in his game, and he could turn out to be a keeper. You just never know with 2nd round picks, though.

POSITIVE-We got an excellent low post scorer and all around scorer for that matter.
NEGATIVE-We already had one of those

POSITIVE- If Pekovic comes over in 2 years like McHale says, we will have the toughest (and ugliest) front court in the league.

NEGATIVE- We might be too good next year (lose our draft pick).

Positive: We knock a year off of Jaric's salary and add a productive shooter.

Negative: No more Lima game threads.

POSITIVE
Wolves now have three players that shot 40%+ from three last year. How many teams had that last year? Three, Toronto, Cleavland, and LA Lakers. Wolves are poised to be a top 10 ten in three point shooting next year.

NEGATVE
Defense, defense, defense. I'm worried that this team won't be able to keep opposing guards from slashing at will. Last year, the Wolves were 30th in the league in opponent's 2P%, and I don't think this trade improves that very much.

Positive: We "should" have a decent perimeter offense

Negative: This deal could dwarf the Roy/Foye debacle.

Positive: We have a pretty well balanced roster, and a young player with upside potential at every position.

Negative: The talented player with upside potential playing the 5 (whether that's Love or Jefferson) will be giving away size against many teams.

Positive: The Wolves should be able to run my favorite play, the pick and roll to perfection with Love and Foye.

Negative: So our perimeter defense and interior defense is going to suck. Fantastic

And shot them pretty well too, 77%. Not bad at all for someone shaped like him.

negative-we traded away two good defenders so now we will be a horrible defensive team

Positives:
1. Got a skilled low post presence to help Al.
2. Dumped untradeable Jaric.
3. Got a very good shooter to play SF.
4. Did not draft Robin Lopez and avoided people posting pics of Michelle Wie.

Negatives:
1. Traded potential best player in draft.
2. Took back a horrible contract.
3. Passed on athletic centers and proven players in 2nd rd.
4. Lost posting right to the future Mrs. Jaric!

Positive: 2010 cap space with a ton of 5 year rookie contracts that are slotted
Negative: The timing of the trade; it cost them the 34 pick; McHale even said they had Chalmers at the top of their board after they already traded the pick. Love, Miller + Chalmers would have been an A+ type of draft.
