The Magic starts Tuesday...

Post#1 » by guevara_d » Fri Jun 27, 2008 9:31 pm

I was really hoping the Magic found a way to steal Dorsey or Chalmers in the second round, but I am just happy Otis made a smart decision with Lee... I think the Magic can really improve through free agency and here are my ideas, let me know what my Orlando Magic family thinks... First I think the Magic should package Redick, Cook, and a future pick of some sort to the Clippers for a sign-and-traded Maggette (5 year 35 million dollar contract). It would give Maggette 7 million a year for five years, more than the qualifying offer other teams can offer and he has said that he would love to return to Orlando... I figure the Mid-Level Exception will be about 5.5 million this season... I don't know how much he'll cost but I'm hoping the Magic could sign Ryan Gomes to a four or five year deal starting around 4 million (it might take more)... Gomes would be a perfect fit, can play much bigger and fill the four or slide down and play the three. i think the Magic should try and get Malik Allen to sign for the veteran's minimum, quality hard-working veteran that can play the four or five, can shoot, defend, and rebound; plus he seems like a great locker room guy. I think we can also have Armstrong sign as a Lindsey Hunter type player, there if needed but starting his coaching role... I think we find a way to resign Dooling... That gives us thirteen players... I think we sign a potential player through the draft camps and leave the last spot open for options... WHAT DO YOU THINK??? Realist and GREAT!

That would be a perfect off season, but I highly doubt the Magic can land Gomes and Maggette.

Magic will never get the better end of a deal (Ariza doesn't count! ;))

Return to Orlando Magic
