Sun Yue is coming?

They are also keeping tabs on 6-foot-8 Chinese guard Sun Yue, whom they took last year with the 40th pick.

"We're very optimistic that we can get him on the roster next year," Kupchak said. "I'll contact his agent this week and have some initial discussions."

I think he'll do better than what seems to have been the general speculations around here — that he's not NBA ready etc. I think he's got game. If nothing else, the jersey sales will pay for the lux tax. Bring him on.

I hope he:

-worked on his finishing
-worked on his right drive
-worked on his shot

he's a nice passer, ballhandler, and very intriguing defender, but unless the above issues have been improved upon, I'd rather see more of Coby Karl.

I agree with almost everything people have said here already.

Although I'm not sure how much Sun Yue improved on his game playing for the ABA. I'm also not sure how much he will improve in the Olympics, besides playing against probably the best competition in his life. I think all the significant improvements will happen if he actually gets more NBA training, there's a lot of things I think he can improve on but he hasn't had the best of oppurtunities.

If he does show something, it will be with the CNT. Just like Yao and Yi, Sun Yue is currently training in China for the Olympics.

Kupchak said the Lakers saw Sun play this season and are optimistic he'll be on their 2009-10 roster.

Sun is playing for China's national team.

"He is a player that we are intrigued in," Kupchak said. "We think he has the talent to play at the NBA level."

He will be the second thing we get closure on.
I officially lost the RJ dream on draft night so those conversations are over and when Sun gets cut thank god that will be over hopefully following that will be us not signing Kwame and that one is done to.
I hope I am wrong about Sun but I doubt it.
