I like Minnesota, lol, actually visit a place first, 'way up there', it's not **** Fargo. Mayo on the outside, Jefferson on the inside, would've been nice

Mayo is playing there; it's like he's living there. Not to mention he's gonna be making millions just for playing a sport. If he doesn't like it there he can go to another team when his contract is up. So no, I highly doubt he "wished" he stayed in school.

Might as well just call this thread "Let's make fun of a city I've never been to!!!"

He should refuse to sign a contract with memphis and move to Europe where he can make 10 million per year and live in Moscow.

A) money does not buy happiness.
B) The team itself is only concerned with clearing contracts and saving money NOT winning. They wont in the forseeable future ever even consider splashing out on anyone to make them a contender ever again.
C ) This is the same team who traded for Kwame Brown and signed Darko for gods sake.
D ) i did not mention anything about the city itself being a ****.
If you think he is overjoyed by joining a team that most likely wont even exist in years time you need your head read.
The Twolves are not a team in financial strife (check out their cap situation here : http://hoopshype.com/salaries/minnesota.htm ), do have some promising players in Jefferson who they actually paid very good money to keep & Brewer who has a promising future.

After visiting both, I find Minny very bland and boring. Memphis is actually a pretty fun scene. I mean, it's not Chicago, New york, or LA, but it ain't shabby at all.

Re: I bet you wished you stayed in school OJ..
Rudy has proven he can score 20ppg. Conely was injured last season but he will be a good pg. Wallace refused to part with either one of these (good decision). Then they manage to land O.J. Mayo who was considered to be the top draft pick until Beasley had a breakout season and Rose managed to get the Tigers to the championship game. They have solidified spots 1-3 and picked up Gasol at center and Arthur(plus they still have Warrick) at pf and have plenty of money to sign a free agent. How is that not looking to win? What more could they have possibly done?
Pau did not want to be here and he was not helping this franchise. He was not capable of being the franchise player eventhough he wanted to get paid like one and recognized as one. Memphis even brought over his buddy Navarro and the two of them couldn't even cut it. Navarro doesn't deserve to play in the NBA and Pau surely isn't a reliable first option. Then the year before that, Damon was lost for the entire season. Plus Pau is ALWAYS injured and crying to the Spanish media. Trust me, you don't see Memphis fans crying about getting rid of Gasol. It's exactly what was needed. A fresh start. If you can't play alongside a young athletic forward like Rudy, stay healthy, rebound, defend, show up in the clutch but get paid like a superstar and have input like a superstar, you are a waste of space and money.
Despite all of that, Memphis won 50 games and then 48 games just a few seasons ago in the West and still no respect. When the Bulls won 50 games a couple of seasons ago against less tougher competition, people acted like they were contenders again; so yes I believe the Memphis bashing is just that, Memphis bashing and not Grizzlies franchise bashing.
If it weren't for Hubie getting sick and Fratello coming in and running Bonzi, Jason WIlliams, and Posey out of town, Memphis would probably still be a playoff team.
Mayo should be happy about this opportunity. He will be a sure starter and he will play alongside someone who is aleady averaging 20ppg. Mayo should be capable of averaging 20ppg as well. Plus with Conely, Mayo will be able to play his natural position, sg. So you have three young, athletic, strong, and talented players in the backcourt who can all create plays and atleast two of them can put up 20ppg. And it just so happens that they are very affordable. The only major concern now is a pf. I would say center, but who doesn't need a center these days? We have Gasol and Darko; teams aren't stacked at every position. I'm certain they aren't done yet either. It's still June. But I can't see how getting Mayo while hanging on to Conely and Rudy who every team wanted in a trade is taking a step in the wrong direction. All they gave up was Mike Miller. Mike is a very good guy but he is a good 6th man, not a good starter; he has alot of costly flaws so he wasn't untouchable.

Likely a person who has never been to either place, and is very out of touch with the world. The more I travel, the more I find out that a lot of places in the U.S. are pretty similar.

He's their franchise player now, he can endorse it and probably will be thrilled.
