1. RJ is on a COMPLETELY different level than Simmons
2. Simmons will never get 4 assists per game over the course of a season.
3. His defense is flat out bad, he doesn't have the mobility he once had. He had a serious surgery which caused him to sit out an entire season of play. That also severely hinders his ability to create open shots for himself.
4. HE IS NOT and NEVER WILL BE the player he was for that one season with the Clippers.
5. HE WILL bring you value as a shooter. When focused the guy is spot on anywhere on the floor. He can hit from distance, midrange, and he's big enough to bully his way in the post once in a while.
6. He'll grab a few cheap offensive rebounds for easy buckets.
7. I can see him putting up 12 per on pretty damn good percentages with 3 or 4 rebounds, but only if everything is in line for him.
8. Think Wally Szczerbiak type role for you guys ala the Cavs.
8. If he doesn't like Lawrence Frank, he'll be the same player for you as he was for us.

Brooklyn has a big Chinatown (as well as Queens and Manhattan). New Jersey also has a big Chinese-American community. Where else can you say that in the USA!
California?

Brooklyn and New York have very large Asian populations. It's great because the train system will make it 30 times easier (and cheaper) to get to the new stadium as opposed to driving to the Meadowlands and parking. Yi and his management group should be pumped as hell for this move.

Simmons will be a lot better next year for you guys than for us this past season.
He was still injured and came back from his surgery way too soon for us. Look for him to bounce back for you guys, he won't be good, but definitely serviceable in my opinion.
Good luck with Yi guys.

You're mental. There aren't many kids who can start a dynasty at 20 years old. We're well aware of that.
I'm gonna go insane with all the homer trolls hanging here for the next few weeks.
Most of the yi fans are quite knowledgeable and reasonable, only a few homers, you dont have to call them all homer trolls.

Yeah I've been eating my words a few times during this thread. I actually think a lot of bucks fans have a good handle on the situation. Problem is, I just get annoyed at the first site of a troll lol.

Re: The Yi dynasty begins...
seriously, can we stop with Yi being DOCUMENTED as 24 y/o? I've followed the thing from the beginning, just because a writer or reporter says he's got a good source saying Yi's 24, doesn't mean it's documented. As far as I know his age is pretty well disputed and there isn't definite proof one way or another.
I hope Yi pans out, I watched many of Bucks games last year (when Yi was playing and when I'm not cringing), and I think he needs to learn how to handle the ball a bit better, get stronger, and get stronger hands. One thing that impressed me is he never stopped getting after it on D or rebounding (can't say he was consistently good at either)despite his struggles with TOs and on the offensive end. At the least when you have a athletic 7 footer with quick feet with the desire to defend and rebound, you're going to have someone who has a niche in the NBA.

Re: The Yi dynasty begins...
Yi could become next Rasheed Wallace (best case)
He could also become next Channing Frye (worst case)
Simmons is disaster though. He is 2nd round D-League player who had one good season and he rightfully aimed that to be the season in his last year of contract. Bucks were stupid and desperate enough to give him huge contract. Next year he could average 10 PPG (mostly jumpers) with few assists. That is best case. Worst case? See last season. At defense his hands are good but his legs are worst in NBA.

Im sorry but there is no way I can see Yi being a bust. Busts do not drop 29/10 in a game in his first month in the league. There were games where he showed flashes of unstoppability last year and he was one of the hardest working players on that team when it came to practice and working out. These are just not signs that point to a player being a bust.

Re: The Yi dynasty begins...
Simmons can be decent when he doesnt get in foul trouble early. Which in his case it happens a lot. He is very physical on d and that results in some cheap quick fouls. He can stroke it from the 3 point line and is a pretty good shooter. I'm not sure he will duplicate the year he had with the Clippers but averaging 12 - 14 pts and about 4 rbs per isnt totally out of the question. I hope he bounces back for you guys since I never really disliked him in the first place. Injuries and a bad contract plagued him from the start with Milwaukee.
Oh and to the poster that mentioned punching hookers. He will do that. He is a hooker punching machine.
Thoughts on Yi:
Coming into this offseason I looked at Bogut and Yi as the only untouchables on the Bucks. But with the trade with you guys, I gotta say it was a good one. Yi is still very raw offensively and defensively. Hopefully playing in the Olympics will give him some more burn. He was very fatigued mid season for the Bucks and you could tell. But playing non-stop basketball will do that to you. He has a very nice stroke and will only get better on that end. He needs to work on his lateral quickness and toughen up. As he stands now he is a power forward in a small forwards body, but he can't defend either position. I'm really rooting for him to develop though, and I thought he was very respectful when he was in Milwaukee. Despite what reports say about him not wanting to be there. I think that was all his handlers that wanted to max out the money they made off him.
Oh well good luck to you guys. I hope us Bucks fans didnt piss you off too much.
