OT: Draft day trades could shake up team plans

Heading into the offseason some of the hot rumors were Miami picking up a PG like TJ Ford, Ben Gordon going to Memphis, and Cleveland going after Michael Redd. The Draft Day trades seemed to reek havoc with all those plans.

Milwaukee trading for Richard Jefferson makes me think that Redd is hanging around. You don't add a now piece and then sell off your other star for cap space.

Memphis getting OJ Mayo should take them out of the Gordon market. I've heard New Orleans considered a possible Gordon destination, but that would be a really small back court. I'm starting to feel that Gordon accepts the qualifying offer to get unrestricted status next year in hopes of a better opportunity being open.

TJ Ford going to Indiana means that Miami will have to look elsewhere. The top candidates in my mind are Kirk Hinrich, Raymond Felton, and Jamaal Crawford. Mario Chalmers could lessen the need, but I'm not sure they want to rely on rookies at 2 positions. They have Haslem or Blount to use as trade bait, but I'm not sure that'll work except maybe in Chicago. Haslem might work talent-wise, but they'll need filler to make the contracts match which is kind of hard given their roster. Long shot possibility would be a deal with Golden St. involving Baron Davis and Shawn Marion.
