Zach Randolph?

Post#1 » by randomhero423 » Sat Jun 28, 2008 5:06 am

Do you think your GM will target Zach Randolph? He'll probably be packaged with David Lee and fill the void at PF making Rashard Lewis more productive.

Maybe something like this?

Zach Randolph, David Lee for Keith Bogans, Tony Battie, Brian Cook, J.J. Reddick, Marcin Gortat

it can also be said, NYK will have to waive someone so you can have whoever that is back.

it gives you another offensive weapon and his D can be protected by dwight howard.

How about just David Lee for Bogans, Battie, Cook? I want ZERO(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to do with Randolph!!!!! David lee i do like though so if you could just take Zach out i would appreciate it. :)

P.S.

adding Randolph to a 50+ win team has a lot more negative risk than upside

Oh dear God no. He's a cancer, he's not athletic, and he's not that good anyway.

why would Otis target Randolph of all of the players in the league? and why for a deal like that? i'll give you 6/8ths of my roster for Randolph the most coveted pokemon of them all...

awnaw, he11 naw, y'all done up and done it,......ive never really been a fan of randolph, he hogs the ball to much. all you hear are negative things about him, thats prolly why you proposed a trade and asked for all our bench players..would rather have lee..

all us NYK fans are trying to think of places we can send him. ORL seems like a reasonable place, since lewis isn't really a PF. the salaries are tough though.

Looking at the talent on both side of this trade: this is a TERRIBLE deal for NY and a GREAT deal for Orlando. To get D. Lee and Randolph without trading Nelson, Turkoglou, Lewis, nor Howard, that is unfathomable!

Zach Randolph is a 26 year old 20/2/6 guy and David Lee is a 24 year old 10/1/9 guy. Those are NBA assets.

The resultant team would be before the FA season:
PG: Nelson, Dooling(?)
SG: Turokglou, C. Lee
SF: Lewis
PF: Randolph, D. Lee, Cook
C: Howard, Augustine

The Magic would spend all their FA efforts to bolster the wing with two combo-SG/SF types. And another combo-big would need to be tabbed. But that above roster is a VERY solid core.

When I first opened this thread I was ready to blast you like the rest of them, but drsd is right...we'd be getting a lot of quality without giving up much in return. I like Lee a lot at PF, and Randolph is talented despite his problems.

I think the potential for Randolph to screw with team chemistry dissuades Otis from doing a deal like this, but we'd certainly have won the trade if it went through.

I'd rather have a package of Crawford and D. Lee than Randolph and D. Lee though. Any potential of that happening?

This looks like a trade you'd make in a video game.

Dsrd is very correct, cancer? If he comes into town thinking he is the main man, yeah he's a cancer..He comes in here automatically 3rd or 4th option. He comes in here to change the way he is and get some chips..

The man has undenyable talent..I mean he is a 20/10 guy no matter where he goes. He has an Elton Brand like game.Except he NEVER passes the ball, which bothers me a bit..But SVG would change that..He has a way of making players play the way they should be...

For that deal, I would welcome Lee and Randolph with open arms...and if worst comes to worst, in two years we have one of the biggest expirings in the NBA....there would HAVE to be a disgruntled star by then...(Hopfully it's not Dwight...)

I don't like any trade that brings Randolph to Orlando because Randolph is a pylon on defense. This team desperately needs to improve its defense, not get worse.

That's why I think this is a low risk / high reward deal for you guys. Looking at your contract situation you have a 5 year window to get 'er done. But you also need that other option. Zack's game I think will complement Howard a lot better than it did Curry. Curry needs touches to get points because he cant rebound. Plus, he plays zero D. Dwight is the exact opposite.

Zack has 3 years left; that's plenty of time to try him and if you dont like him I'm sure you could unload him as early as next summer when he'll be a 20/10 guy with 2 years left on his deal. You will still have the same core for 4 more years at that point, and you can resign Lee who I'm sure would love to stay in Florida on a playoff contender.
