You have a Foye/Mayo/Jefferson trio .... with McCants as 6th man .. Chalmers backup PG ......... next year you suck, get a high pick again..see if Brewer gets any better...draft a Center or SF depending on that...looks like a nice future.

KG was my favorite player, thats why i kinda care a little about the Wolves. But not too much..

yes, but at that time wolves had foye, mayo, telfair, jaric at pg and brewer, mccants, snider, buckner at sg. that's 8 players all sharing time at backcourt, you just doesn't have PT for another one. now you remove mayo, jaric and buckner and of course you have place for chalmers, but it was too late, the deal was done.

And you gotta love Mark Blount at center. Great trade by Riley.

In which case why choose him when your front court consists of Al and Madsen over the height of 6'7"?

they didn't choose him, they traded the pick and miami took chalmers.

The explanation was we had too many backcourt players to choose him and no front court players that aren't dwarfs. So as a solution we decided not to pick anyone.

If you need height you pick the best big guy left ,in the second round they probably won't amount to much but you try at least.

You don't say well the best guy left on our board was someone we don't need so we won't bother taking anyone. If you are picking in the bottom half of the 2nd round and you can pretty much guarantee that noone there will make the team then fair enough, we aren't in a position to say that and so it was a stupid move.

Looking at the quote
With Chalmers also there we said 'we just drafted a guy that almost plays the same exact position in O.J.

Did they trade the pick or the rights to Chalmers because McHale thinks they traded Chalmers rights

So the people who said that Love will bolt after a few years are wrong:

Kevin touched on a lot, obviously I am very excited. I was at dinner last night actually as a Memphis Grizzly for awhile but my brother got a call from my agent Jeff Schwartz, he came down from upstairs and told me, 'hey you're a Minnesota Timberwolf,' and that changed my whole night, I was so happy. I get to work with Kevin (McHale) - maybe my favorite player of all-time, get to have a great fan base, I'm happy to be here in the city - it's almost like a colder Portland, so I'm happy to almost be back home here, it's going to be my new favorite city.

"I'll be living with my brother in Minneapolis. I want to get out and see the city as much as possible. It's going to be my new favorite city. I have to fall in love with it and I'm looking forward to it. There's a lot of stuff to do here. We're going to some Twins and Vikings games. We'll just have to see."
