OT: Marc Gasol ranked ahead of Rose & Mayo for ROY on ESPN

Post#1 » by WCDYNASTY » Sat Jun 28, 2008 12:29 pm

4. Marc Gasol, C, Grizzlies
Skilled, experienced and full of confidence. Don't discount the effect of having his brother, Pau, in his ear all summer, teaching him the nuances of the NBA.

5. Derrick Rose, PG, Bulls
Let's not forget he is still very young and the Bulls still have Kirk Hinrich, who has lots of talent. Rose is going to be great, but not overnight. Still, he projects to be an All-Rookie performer.

7. O.J. Mayo, SG, Grizzlies
Obviously, a talent like Mayo should rank higher, but Conley and Gay are youngsters who will get lots of minutes. Playing three young players together is a disastrous recipe most of the time, so O.J. may have to wait his turn just for a little bit.

Michael Beasley, Greg Oden and Rudy Fernandez are ranked 1, 2, and 3.

Not exactly sure what David Thorpe is thinking here but he's going to get people talking about his work (Like us now). I just can't picture Marc Gasol being that dominate right when he comes into the league and I'm even a fan of his.

All homerism aside, seriously Yue has more game than "master" Batum does at 20

When Marc was even a pro in Spain, Pau said he was going to be better than him. I dunno how good marc will be but pau in spain did better than Marc. Pau was ROY and Marc.....we will see.

Yeah I think so... There 4,5 combo will be a matchup problem for us with Dwight having the sternum injury and nobody at the 4 big enough to guard Pau.

I'd believe that when he drops around 25 pounds and starts becoming as mobile has his brother. Pau is fundamentally one of the best offensive PFs in the NBA right now and there's no reason to even think Marc becomes as good as him, at least from what I've seen of him.
