I'm not insulting your intelligence in general, we're having a discussion about Udonis Haslem's attitude and personality. Is it really that big of a deal to you that you might not know a lot of information about a guys character that plays on another team?

I wasn't trying to pick a fight or make some sort of personal attack, it was all in the context of our BASKETBALL discussion. Anyway we're just going in circles so i'm done here. I doubt either of us are going to convince the other party of their point. We should just agree to disagree and I guess i'm sorry if you took my words as some sort of personal attack on your overall intelligence.

I know you weren't trying to pick a fight, but you might want to consider choosing your words more carefully. I consider, "you have no idea of what you're talking about" an attack, maybe not the strongest personal attack I'll see, but an attack nevertheless. You would've been better served to say,"I disagree, here's why..." Or, "I think you should reconsider because...". Maybe you're right maybe you're wrong, but no one on RealGM is the absolute truth as much as some may like to think so. That's all I'm saying.

The other visiting poster saying "flaming" is tolerated and expected on RealGM was much more in the wrong.

I think the whole thing stemmed from when you guys said PR07 didn't know what he was talking about, which was a really unintelligent thing to say considering that all he said was that Haslem had red flags for character issues and you could argue that about almost any player in the league. I don't think I would say character issues as much as trouble controlling his emotions, but either way if he had no idea what he was talking about he probably wouldn't be a Forum Mod...and to follow that up you call Jermaine a thug for punching a guy who came onto the court and put up his dukes. If a skinny guy in a suit came up to you in a police station and you thought he was going to hit you, you'd hit him. If a 300 pound man runs at you randomly in your place of employment you'd probably crap yourself and then hit him. It was all done in excitement and the NBA handled it in typical NBA fashion...they did what was best for business and completely forgot about what was fair. JO did more for his community and other people's communities even than any Heat player I can think of. How would you feel if we called DWade a thug? You'd probably excuse it as an insane idea...which is what I should've done when you called JO a thug but now that I've typed all of this I'd be wasting my time not to post it.

Wow, you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Udonis Haslem has always been a very humble guy and has never gotten in trouble down here in Miami. Hell he's the freaking captain of our team over Wade! The ultimate disciplinarian in Riley is in love with the guy, you're really off base with that post and I hope you're not just saying it because he has corn rows or looks a certain way.

i think maybe it was just one incident that made a bad impression. for some reason everytime i think of him i think of this moment.

Haslem and Jermaine O'Neal got tangled up after Haslem grabbed a rebound under the Pacers' basket. With Haslem backing into O'Neal and O'Neal inadvertantly hooking Haslem, the two started glaring before Haslem lost his cool.

"He looked me in the eye and when you look me in the eye I look back,'' Haslem said. "It's cool to look somebody in the eye and chest you up in the middle of the court. Nobody is going to let you fight there.''

Haslem, with his mouthpiece dangling, started shouting and had to be restrained by Pacers assistant Chuck Person. Haslem said later he has not forgotten a play last season in which Jermaine O'Neal pulled down Haslem by the neck.

"I don't know when he became tough,'' Jermaine O'Neal said. "But all of a sudden he became tough. It's in his best interest to concentrate on getting a rebound and be quiet.''

Meanwhile, Shaquille O'Neal entered the scrum and had a chokehold on Jermaine O'Neal.

"I knew they were going to be in there scrapping to fight,'' Shaq said. "I just didn't want it to get into an ugly situation.''

Something the Pacers are as familiar with as any team in the league. With thoughts of Indiana's brawl with the Pistons 16 months ago likely racing through their minds, the capacity crowd reacted loudly and angrily, even more so when it was announced that Haslem was assessed an offensive foul in addition to both players being given technical fouls.

Haslem was not too pleased, either, and after arguing the call he was assessed a second technical, meaning an automatic ejection. On his way off the court, Haslem removed his jersey and tossed it back onto the floor.

I don't know anything about Haslems charactor, but it seems to me some people got really upset when PR07 brought it up. I say no thanks and leave it at that. If you want a reason, Foster is one of the most popular players on this team, coach OB loves hi m, he plays d, and his contract is about up, haslem has 2 season remaining. So no thanks we'll have to pass.

i would let you have a pick or combination of Tinsley, Daniels, Baston but to deal Jeff would be too much as we Pacer Fans not only value him higher due to his passion, leadership , and dedication to the Pacers. But also he has value as a hustle player with a great attitude and vet exp. also he is expiring after this season. I would take Haslem but not with Fiesty Foster.

Man, I made one comment awhile back and then had to read through a bunch of clamoring. I think I can clear all this up. The Pacers are very sensitive to off court issues right now given what's gone on extra-curricularly with the team lately, and the corresponding drop in attendance. So anything can set our sensors up. Haslem seems like a good solid citizen to me, but I understand others concerns if rumors are out there. Then the line about corn rows and looks implied that his character issues were race-related and that's also been a touchy subject around here.

Anyway, I understand that we would gain a younger player with the same strengths, but I still just don't think it makes sense for two teams to swap hard-nosed, hard-working, well-liked players. However, I do think that moving Jeff makes some sense if we can get another young piece. If we couldn't find a deal for him straight up then involving the heat in a deal like the ones proposed earlier would certainly be fine by me.

Udonis Haslem, the basketball player, is a complete professional on the court with the Heat organization. He is a very hard worker and has never been a headcase in the locker room. What he does with his personal life and how he treats opposing team players shouldn't even be a concern, since he's out on the court trying to win. He isn't a Ron Artest type of player who will frustrate fans by at times making basketball a secondary point of interest.

The same goes for Posey. As a player he was very valuable to the Heat and played hard every second he was on the floor. Bulls fans love to hate him since he was involved in scuffles with several Bulls players such as Hinrich, but if he's on your team you could care less about what he did to the opposition. And he was also involved in some events off the court with his partying, but his personal life never hurt the Heat. He kept his personal life and work separate and made sure they wouldn't conflict.

I believe we've sufficiently covered the issue of Haslem's character. Both sides have had their say, and there is no further need to discuss it.

You are welcome to continue the conversation focusing on the basketball aspects or the financial aspects for the teams. However, if anyone (Pacer fan, Heat fan, or passerby) re-opens the argument that has just wasted the last page, I will lock this thread and issue that poster a warning.

Thanks for your help in this matter.

I love Foster's game and it's great to see that Pacer fans appreciate it too. I think he's perhaps the most underappreciated player in the league.

Question: Doesn't he have a player option to opt out right now? If so, any news on what he plans to do?

I dont know if he has that option, but I think barring a trade, he is on our roster next year.

Make 100%...Foster is guaranteed for next year. Hoopshype is absolutely incorrect.

Andrew confirmed it with the Pacers a while back. Shamsports is far more accurate on contracts.

I do that trade in a heartbeat. Haslem is a great option at the 4.

I'm with pacers rule on this one. The photo of Haslem with the girls he looks blazed out of his mind. The guy is 27 or what ever and he needs to go around 16 year old girls? Athletes can get many girls, for this dude to go this path, is pretty pathetic. The dude is obviously a big pot smoker and goes around with under age girls and gets them wasted. Not a Larry Bird player. Sorry.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.
